Well thats not what the masses say. Can you explain why Honda stopped production? I also think the S2k was overpriced. 38K for a 4 cylinder? No thanks. As for the styling: to each his own. Some people would like the S2k for its modern look while others prefferred the classic British roadster look of the 2nd gen Miata (which was the one i had)

Of course the Miata has more overall appeal because you can get an automatic and lots of women buy the Miata . I drove a Miata and I do not get its appeal . To small , cramped interior , too slow , only average in style. The S2000 on the other hand has a fit like a glove interior ,quick for a 4 cyl , beautiful styling , more hardcore than the Miata or what you would call more of a drivers car and just better in every possible way including the fact of its F1 DNA.

Nope there was nothing wrong with mine…it only had one owner before me a 30 year old woman and when i traded it in to the Honda dealer they inspected it, drove it, and gave me big money so i doubt anything was wrong with it. Also if you read my previous post i did say the S2k is a faster car than the Mx5. I never said it wasn’t. But i look at the overall handling and weight of the car and how it actually feels. The Miata just has more overall appeal and this is why it is still on the market

You must be on drugs ! How exactly can you know the handling is better when the Miata is so slow? I have a 97 Civic and the Miata feels a lot like the Civic . An S2000 on the other hand feels like a 4 cylinder Ferrari . When you hit 6000 rpm the variable valve timing kicks in and will leave little Mazdas in the dust ! Drive another S there must have been something wrong with yours . If you look up past reviews even the Mazdaspeed Miata could not keep up with an S2k!

Also both cars were stock so of course maybe if you supe up the S2K it will be much better….but both stock and the Miata is the better car….Why do you think they still make Miatas and not S2K’s?

I have owned a 1999 Miata and a 2001 S2000 and preferred the Miata. The handling is better. The S2K Felt too much like an 80’s Civic or something. The S2K might be a little faster than the Miata but it is hardly noticeable on normal streets.

Miatas are the reason why there is Boxsters, Z3’s, S2000’s, MR2 Spyders….Everyone tried to compete with it….I have driven all those cars except for the Z3 and I can say the Miata is still better than all of them.

I’ve recently bought an MX5 Kuro (special edition for UK market). It looks exactly the same as the one in the video except it has decals on the sides. It is the dogs bollocks!!!

You can get an MX-5 aftermarket exhaust that adds about 7 hp and 10 lbft of torque across almost the entire rpm range for $300. Really improves the sound and midrange acceleration.
