Photoshop retouch tutorial by Garenth

27 Jan

Hi guys, this is the very first video of photo retouching I made, hope you like it. I didnt know how to add sound to my video, but if you would like to see more tutorials how to retouch photos I will try to manage it 🙂 It is pretty hard to do some full retouching tutorial in 10 minutes, therefore I showed you just this “rough” way how to retouch your photo in 10 minutes. You can do a lot of things with your photos, so I tried to show you at least some of the techniques. I use Genius Tablet for retouching, and I can tell you that it is MUCH better than retouching with mouse. Thank you, hope you enjoy it, rate and leave comments 🙂 Thank you 🙂

San Francisco and Sonoma

17 Jan

This year for the birthday, did a fantastic 2 week trip to San Francisco and Sonoma.  Lots of touristy stuff, lots of wine drinking, and lots of photos… Cameras were the GF1 and a Holga – this was my my first “real” outing with the GF1 and it absolutely lived up to my expectations.  Was able to carry the body with kit lens and 20/1.7 in the corner of my daybag with room for the rest of my assorted junk.  Never missed carrying the big SLR one bit!

Nikon SB-900: The Basics

14 Jan

This video demonstrates the basic hands-on demonstration on Nikon’s new professional-grade speedlight of SB-900. Note, there’s a typo while flash head panning demonstration, it starts from 0º, 45º, 90º, then 180º both ways around. If you are not so sure about SB-900’s “Light Pattern” – SB-900 can throw light in different directions: Above, Even, and Below. Below is useful when you are using the flash on a flash bracket. The DX and FX feature in the SB-900 allows you to use iTTL, iTTL-BL, iTTL-FP, or iTTL-BL-FP more accurately on FX and DX camera bodies. It will automatically switch to DX if you enter the DX Crop Mode on D3 / D3X / D700. SB-900 will automatically get the signal from the camera body and it will switch to either DX or FX. You can manually override that feature if you wish. Enjoy.
