Video #2 – Sorry it is a bit dark, one of my globes blew just before I started, whoops. Hi again guys, I had some really great feed back from my 1st video so I will continue to share these. This week I had a questions from Daniel Donnelly asking: How does Denis Smith create his Ball-Of-Light images? ( In some parts of this vid I misplace Daniel & Denis’s names oops haha) In this video I go over the methods Denis would use to create his unique images. Please see Denis Smith Photography to understand a bit more about the Ball-Of-Light project! www.denissmith.com.au Leave me any feedback & questions. Thanks so much guys! … then start at about F8, iso 200 and get into it. There is an amazing amount of experimentation involved. But this a good starting point. A great place to checkout is the lightjunkies group at flickr. Heaps of inspiring stuff there. Keep up the tutorials mate, it is a lot to give of yourself, and I admire you for passing on the knowledge.

Hi Phil, Denis Smith here. I was sent this link by a mate today. Firstly I would like to say thanks for the kind words you said about the movie. We had a greta time making it, and the feedback has been great. I think your tutorial is really good and clear. It is a difficult thing to explain but you nailed it. I thought it would be good to clarify a couple of things you were unsure about. I definitely use bulb mode, and use just a basic locking remote. I use a bright torch to focus on my spot…

Hey dude – Saw your heading back home soon, hope you had a BLAST here!
The D3100 is a EXCELLENT starting camera, I highly recommend it, Nikon have also just released there new D5100, this is something you can also consider, it probably prices for a few hundred more than the D3100.
Jared Polin does a great review on it, so search JaredPolin on youtube and it will be his 2nd recent video.
He vs’s it the to the D7000 & 3100 so check that out.
