Mine used to only film like 3 minutes at a time, I think because of the write speed of the memory card. Mine does 12 min at a time now. Not sure if that would have anything to do with it.

Is there anyway you can tell me how to film on my camera .? I have the same one but can’t figure out how to film on it. I’m blurry and can’t figure out the settings , It’s so frustrating I’ve tried finding videos on it and I can’t find anything . Heellllp hah

The 5minutes thing is because of your memory card 🙂
My brother has a Nikon, and he could only film 2mins than he bought an 8GB and now he can film 30 mins. Mine, only allows for 12mins, with my 8GB I think mines a bit better quality than his? Im not sure. But there not even that dear. The 8GB was about 18euro. So, That would be less in pounds 🙂 Hope this helps (:

Thanks for that response Kathy! How much is a “portion of advertising money”? Enough to pay for your book addiction? lol

Hahaha. I still use a webcam so sometimes I take off my glasses so that I’m not distracted by what I look like.
Thank you for making this video. When I first started vlogging I told myself that I wouldn’t care about the quality as much and that I would do it just for fun, but it’s impossible for me to do that! So videos like these really help me and give me the confidence to try new things.
Crossing my fingers that I can get a better camera and editing program in the next few months! 🙂

Useful video Kathy. Do you get paid by You Tube for these videos?

When I first got my DSLR it only filmed 4mins of HD footage and I was livid, but then I found out it wasn’t the SLR, it was the class of SD card inside the camera that meant I was so limited. The higher the class number of the SD card the faster it can record data, the reason lower class SD cards can only take 5mins of footage at a time is because it can’t keep up and ends up tripping over itself essentially. I now use a class 4 SD card and can film 30mins of footage 😉 xx

It’s just the page that tells you how to convert .mov files to quicktime and fix audio/visual issues for people using imovie on a mac. My picture and audio quality got substantially better when I fixed all the settings right. It’s support.google.com/youtube/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=1297408
