I once read that apparently, the deleted level 2 was so ahead of it’s time, that XBOX couldn’t run it. An operator was literally (behind the stage while the player was showing the demo at E3) deleting scenery, vehicles characters, models etc. Just to keep the XBOX from crashing. They only had the one level made at the time. So they had to start over to make a full campaign. In fact, if the player was to veer off course from the exact path that the player took at E3, the XBOX would also crash.
