Sorry for the quality of the video, it was shot with a mobile phone… Current state of the port: bitbucket.org magiclantern.wikia.com Downloads: sztupy.hu Version for FW 1.0.8 is known to work. After installing it for FW 1.0.8 you can upgrade to FW 1.0.9 and the version for FW 1.0.9 will work too. It is not yet known whether the .fir file for the 1.0.9 works or not. (the autoexec files will work however)

I meant head, not tripod. I’m using it on my cheap Slik Pro 700Dx tripod. I hope it works fine.

So, you’re just panning on these? It looks like you have it on a slide sometimes. How did you create that effect?

You should get an Igus slider. I’d love to see what you do with that.

Great video test. I’m curious, where did you find that lens flare transition at 1:01? Its quite beautiful. You should get an igus

Wow, really nice, smooth shots! Did you buy just the head and attach it to your own tripod? I definitely need a new one and this test video may have sold me.

    Very useful vid, thank you.

I´m particularly curious about the “focus peak” feature: do you think it´s good enough to avoid using something like a LCDVF when MF?

How can I get this to work on my camera, I tried the yesterday and all that happened is my shutter kept going off. Anybody have a clear step by step process, cause I don’t seem to understand the directions

I’m eagerly waiting for this, as well! I hope a version that’s suitable for public consumption is available soon!

I just donated 20 euros via PayPal to whoever is working on the 60D version. I really need the audio meter and headphone monitoring functions. When will the ML-60D be ready for public consumption?

The AF mode – record start issue will not happen to me. I only use manual lenses. ;o)

    January 31, 2013 at 6:00 am

(under “this” I mean the display flipping)

    January 31, 2013 at 6:24 am

I couldn’t test the headphone monitoring, so it seems it breaks the firmware (as probably a lot of other options)

This does work for me, so it seems to be another config-based issue (just like the one where you cannot sometime start recording if the lens is in AF mode…)

  36. aliprivado

    January 31, 2013 at 7:19 am

It only happens if I choose the headphone monitoring option. From that moment on whenever I restart the cam I can’t access the menue no more until I format the card and prepare it again.

One more thing: When I flip out the display and turn it upside down, the image will stay and not flip like it would do normally.

    January 31, 2013 at 7:40 am

    Great work!
I can bring up the menue only once with a freshly prepared card. I hit the trash button – but nothing happens. I have to format the card to prepare it again (boot flag, autoexec.bin). Am I missing anything?
    Cheers,
    Alex

I can only say that it works for me, and that the same things apply for the 60D as for the 550D: update will only enable autobooting, if autoboot is enabled, you either need a non-autoboot SD card to run the original firmware, or an autoboot-enabled SD card with a working autoexec.bin to run ML.

I didn’t (yet) had any issues regarding the original firmware after the patch. As for ML, I did had issues, because it’s work-in-progess of course.

I’m under the impression that its safe, as you are just loading an alternate OS. You can always revert back to the original OS, both on SD cards.

I have a 60D, but I’ve been EXTREMELY cautious about Magic Lantern. How safe is it for the 60D? What are the odds of it becoming screwed up because of ML?
