I couldn’t find any reviews or unboxing videos of this rig so I took a chance on it. Great build quality, but it does have a few rough edges (literally). Mechanisms could be much smoother but can probably be worked out with some grease and repeated use. No commentary – sorry I got lazy.
Video Rating: 4 / 5

Z, I am assuming you are saying it is nearly impossible to return the unit in case you don’t like it. Why do you think it’s so hard to return? Also, would you recommend this to a novice DSLR video shooter?

Hi. I have Pocket RIG . Build quality is great, but mechanism not perfect…far from been perfect. I could say it’s overpriced BUT they use very quality materials. Also customers service is PERFECT.
PS: Its almost impossible send unit back …why? Ask them 🙂

sweet. got mine the other day, however haven’t been home to test it out, let alone open the box. i wondered what it would look like with the zacuto z-finder attached. looks good. thanks for the video. interesting to see if their follow-focus one would work with the zacuto plate attached.

to fix the clicking audio set your project settings to stereo at 192 kHz, NOT the default! (I’m assuming you use FCPX)

It’s definitely come in handy many times. I even mounted my NEX-5 to it the other day. I can’t say its better than other rigs because I don’t have one – but it takes up such a small amount of space both on and off the camera that I can literally have it anywhere with me…

What I want to do when i get one is put a follow focus edelkrone’s two grip handles and a matte box on the front rods then get there offset hot shoe mount for a zacuto EVF. Do you think all that will fit on the front? it’s for a canon 5D mark 2 with a zeiss 50mm f/1.4 ZE Planar T lens on it. It’s a tiny lens with the focus ring very close to the body so the follow will be very close to the body. It should leave enough room for the handles and the matte box I think.
