Beautiful Suspended Bridge Hangs from Helium Balloons

31 Dec

[ By WebUrbanist in Architecture & Public & Institutional. ]

Neither this installation artist nor his work are full of hot air – this is no optical illusion or structural trick, but an actual bring hanging in mid-air that can actually hold the weight of a human user.

Oliver Grossetête  (images by Thierry Bal and Toby Savagecrafted this lovely slatwork structure from rope, wood and synthetic fabric, installed over water at a Japanese garden for the Tatton Park Biennial.

To call Grossetête obsessed with everyday uses for balloons would be an understatement. His other projects include a floating bench (strung up to helium-filled orbs) and a conceptual transportation system that (you guessed it) soars through the sky on the back of giant balloons.

In this case, three large, evenly-spaced balloons create a series of rises in the path below, while the rope-and-wood slats allow some flexibility as the construct rises, falls and sways in the wind.

Eve & Marilyn – part 2

31 Dec

In 1987, American photojournalist Eve Arnold was interviewed about the photos she made of actress Marilyn Monroe. Marilyn trusted Arnold more than any other photographer, which resulted in many beautiful and intimate portraits, made between 1951 and 1962. On 17 June 1991, this half hour interview was broadcasted by the BBC (English spoken, no subtitles).

This issue plays around the conceptual universe of Marcel Duchamp. Not his life, nor his works, just some of his concepts.

– the medium, as an intellectual tool which goes beyond its specificity mocking it.
– the work, regardless of its representative and interpretative character.
– “art”, in terms of conventions, as “amorphous” as possible.
– “construction”, in which the work is not it’s purpose, but an excuse.
– interpretations, or rather readings which can coexist despite being seemingly exclusive.
– objects “aesthetically anesthetized,” lapsed in their likely sight complacency; “rectified”, “assisted”, to give them a new –often unusual- significance. As with the choice of “ready-mades”: “based on visual indifference and a total absence of good or bad taste”
– works “definitively unfinished”.
– rrose sélavy, his alter (-) ego.
– chess, optic machines, mathematics, geometry, “artifacts”.
– “mental painting,” “precision painting”, the rejection of any element in which sight can be delighted.

– aesthetics: – text, – blocks, – photographs, + mixed-media, + painting, + illustration.
– the whole magazine, in spanish and english.

Unboxing Canon EOS 60D DSLR Camera 18-135mm Kit

31 Dec

Follow: www.twitter.com In this video I unbox the Canon EOS60D DSLR Camera. This is my first dslr camera and will be the camera that I will be using for all of my further reviews except the review of the 60D itself because it cant film itself :-P. I’m hoping that it will give a more professional look to my videos with the manual focus and blur effect on the background. I did purchase it for 00 from a local store. It does come with an 18-135mm lens. Please Thumbs Up, Comment, & Subscribe!

Snow Halation – School Idol Cosplay PV

31 Dec

Snow Halation Cosplay PV MERRY CHRISTMAS ! Some details and technicalities on this video: We shot the principal dance last December 04, 2011 at La Defense (near Paris, France). The girls practiced during the afternoon for the dance then we started filming around 6pm until 8pm. We had a lot of difficulties during filming, strong winds, rain showers and of course the occasional asshole trying to dance near the girls and ruining the shot. Yes we know there are alot of problems in regards to dance synchronization, and we knew that it would happen, but hey, they did their best and at the same time doing it in these conditions, props to them. Now for the toys used: 1 5D Mark 2 with a EF 50mm 1.4. 3 7Ds exquipped with EF 50mm 1.4, Nikkor 35mm 1.4 and Samyang 85mm 1.4 Of course tripods and a steadicam. I used Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5 and used After Effects CS5.5 to stabilize some clips. As for color, I used Colorista II. Murder, Set, Pieces

31 Dec

Set against Sin City, Las Vegas, “Murder, Set, Pieces” tells the story of a fashion photographer whose vocation is shooting young girls but his hobby is slaughtering them. The sociopathic serial killer murders anyone who crosses his path and his evil is countered not by the law but instead by the sister of his current girlfiend. “Murder, Set, Pieces” is a voyeuristic nightmare of blood, sex and brutality.
