Slinging a Sling-O-Matic to the Opposite Shoulder

22 Dec

How to reverse the shoulder strap on a Sling-O-Matic sling bag, by Think Tank Photo. The Sling-O-Matic series of sling bags is the first sling camera bag that “automatically” switches back and forth to either shoulder and still keeps gear access upright! This is the innovative solution to the problem inherent with other sling bags: only being designed to wear a sling bag over the same shoulder. With one smooth motion, the Sling-O-Matic can be quickly switched to the opposite shoulder without losing the characteristics that have made sling bags popular among photographers. Those are definitely long days and it’s good to hear the bag remained comfortable for the duration. As for the zipper, I’ve found that pulling up (or away from the zipper) helps to guide it around corners or stiff areas. Regardless, thanks for sharing your comments!

Great bag. Took it to NY and Philly as my walk around bag. Averaged about 8 hours a day of non-stop walking with very little fatigue when I properly cinched the bag tight against my back. Only flaw I found was that the zipper gets a little sticky in the corner and takes some effort to break free. 10/10 for this product.

because quite frankly I like L lenses, but I really miss the dynamic range of the Nikons, my old Nikon D5000 has atleast 4 more stops of DR then my 60D.

I would to as well but I don’t think Nikon would like to produce a camera that has the ability to take EOS, Pentax, or Minolta lenses, or any of them for that matter.

    – Too true. Nikon really needs to step-up their game with their compacts. I’d love something like the Fuji X100 with the Nikon D7000 sensor. 🙂

I’ve been working up a design for a modular camera as you describe, just mine has an interchangable bayonet

We don’t need modular DSLR chips for better photos. We need modular skill chips for better photographers.

I have heard about the modular camera but I doubt it will be release any time soon and not before the D400, D800 or D4, or probably D4s. As for the F lenses I think Nikon are trying to just to differentiate between their newer better lenses the same as Canon does with their L lenses. Nikon could well bring out a new evil camera system, with evil lenses, though I have never been impressed with their line of compact cameras, which lag behind Canon generally,

    – Probably does. So they’d provide the firmware with the sensor.

Popping new sensors require different firmware

A modular camera? Wow..that will add allot of overhead think about the firmware upgrades you need. I dunno that just.. you know. Some things work best because the parts work very good together. If you replace a part with a better one you might end up in a situation that things get out of balance.

Oooh nikon and Canon going EVIL. That is interesting. I mean giving even more people the joy of a big ass sensor and well due to that very much improved image quality.

I think Nikon is now making lenses for new photographers. They’re doing a good job because buying a full frame lens for a crop sensor camera isn’t balanced. If they keep making lenses for under $400 but with great quality, more people will patronize them.

If Nikon does the customizable camera series, that would be nuts. lol But they could become a pioneer and do something like that.

I highly doubt Nikon will make a customizable camera lol nice idea though…im really hoping Nikon comes out with newer lenses given the 50 1.8G and the new 40 2.8 macro lens…the 35 1.8G could use an update or go wider and make a 24 1.8G lense with a aspherical element or something instead of forcing people to want the sigma 24 1.8 or the nikon 24 1.4G

yeah a d800 would be nice too but i have a d1x now and i wouldnt want to go back to a smaller body.. i like the feel of a pro body. i think my next body will be a d2x…they will be alot cheaper in a couple of years.

    – Yes, the M4/3 have the same lens mount and the lens are interchangeable between brands. Nikon hasn’t said yet, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t want to join the M4/3 alliance and instead come up with their own mount.

Do all the other M4/3 cameras have the same mount style? So is Nikon creating their own type of m4/3 mount?
