This Sunday, June 23rd, the moon will be closer to earth than at any point during the year. It just so happens that on Sunday the moon will be full, too, creating what is commonly known as a ‘Supermoon’ which if there are no clouds in the way, will appear larger and brighter than normal. A great opportunity for some backyward astrophotography, in other words.
