Also… If you hold Tap the CAPS lock key while rating your images.. they will AUTOMATICALLY jump to the next image.. no need to hit the right arrow.
There is a really easy way too, to remember the f keys that open and close each panel! I wrote it up on my blog.. give it a peek if you lik

While I LOVE the plethora of through accurate, and excellent level of information you have been putting out there for all the new photographers, I have to point something out that is being done here that would NEVER fly on my set.
You have a coffee cup RIGHT next to the computer. NO liquids go ANYWHERE near my electronic equipment ever. Better safe than sorry. Period.

If I’m using a Time Machine backup and I’m not planning on deleting anything from my main Hard Drive, using another backup would be redundant, right? I know it would be better than only one backup but still, it wouldn’t be needed. Also, if I decide to remove any image from the main hardrive thus removing them from time machine, I could manually back them up later, right?

I see where you are comming from and I understand that a mac might have worked out better FOR YOU, but you are not everyone. There are allot of different things you can do with a computer and everybody uses it differently.
And if people would spend as much money on a pc as they did on a mac it would run smoothly, but in reallity people are just comparing a 700 euro laptop to a 1500 euro macbook or something like that..

I’ve been 20+ years on Windows, basically trying all versions since then, and last year I moved to Mac, so I can surely say Mac is better in every way. Yes you do have software like Adobe’s CS for both systems, but as a whole Mac just works better (plus aesthetics, but that doesn’t really matter here) so you can pay a little less for a PC but what does that help you if it sucks?

yeah so 95% of the world runs on inferior software.. go make stupid comments somewhere else fanboy
If you don’t know shit about computers don’t go around acting like you do
Both systems are better than the other for different purposes, although most people who do allot of video editing prefere a mac. If you need to create a network you’re better of with a pc. And for photo editing they are infact about the same, execpt for the fact that pc’s wil be cheaper for the same hardware.

Yes, It’s Possible & known as ‘Tethered Shooting’.. 🙂
You can do it by connecting your camera with your laptop. Then open your Adobe Lightroom 3. Select- File- Tethered Capture- Start Tethered..
Then wait for few secs to sync your camera with Lightroom & You’re off to go asa the Command Bar comes up.. 🙂

Amazing information! I’ve had lightroom for a while now but it seemed so complex that I just stayed away from it. Now I feel ready to tackle it and make it work for me, thanks a million!

Adobe Lightroom.3 is fantastic and I think that is the most complete tool to open, adjust and export RAW files. However, there are other nice options to manipulate RAW files. I downloaded a trial copy of Bibble 5 and it is a nice option.
