what about battery life? Are they just using Nikon batts? Surely they can’t afford to change during a live broadcast…

the 3″ screen with the LCDVF works fine, since the HD resolution is narrower than the screens original size. 🙂

It looks like LCDVF with red foam pad. I think it was little bit tricky to fit because D800 has got 3,2″ screen while LCDVF is designed for 3″ screens. Well, maybe they just placed it to the middle.

Dude, the Sigma is actually a good lens, maybe not the best model out there but it does shoot well despite it small disadvantages.
The man needed a TELE lens. Why are you bringing up the 50mm 1.8? If he needs tele, how the hell are you going to do close-ups like a tele with a fix lens like this??

question , can you compare this Sigma with it’s first class Nikor version? I am thinking of purchasing such a lens (since after testing the nikor vers , I realised it’s a really good all-rounder) and I was wondering if there are any big downsides to the Sigma version! aslo , nice vids , I totally agree with yah on the Kony matter! 😀

The Nikon cam would be embarassed if it worked with that one. So it just doesn’t turn on. Hmmm… what makes me curious is that you didn’t mention a message on the Display. Normally there should stand: “Are you serious?! Nikon.” Didn’t you read that? If not – send it to the Nikon service.

Honestly. Buy other lenses for that money. Any of them will work lots better.

OMG! what is wrong with you? You seem completely clueless. What have you gained by buying that junk lens? A little reach? The 18-105 is a better lens by far. You’re money would have been better spent towards a class. Stop wasting your cash on shit. Forget zoom all in ones. You should have bought a nice 50 mm 1.8 for $120. Now that’s a lens.

it’s probably you’re setting in autofocus mode, since d3100 have no motor in this body. It’s only work with camera which has motor in their body like d90 in this video, or higher level camera. so if you wanna use this lense, you just can use with manual focus. I hope this can help 🙂

    February 11, 2013 at 7:02 pm

it’s compatible with d3100, but since the d3100 doesnt have motor in this body, the lens will not work with autofocus, so you may shoot on the manual mode lens.

I have a D3100 and I have this Sigma 28-300mm lens for it. My problem is that if I have the lense already on the camera, it will not turn on – any idea why this is? The guy who sold me the camera and all the accessories said it was compatible.

So basically what i’m seeing in your video is a reflection of a mirror? Then where is the camera? Pointing sideways? Just wanna know.
