Get your Sony HX30V from Amazon today: www.amazon.com The Sony HX30V promises to be the all in one photographic solution that can still reside comfortably in a pocket. Like all point ans shoot cameras, it has its limitations but the HX30V (WiFi enabled unlike the HX20V), proves competent across its dynamic 25-500mm(35mm equivalent) Sony G lens. Its 3 point active steady shot image stabilization is yet another critical improvement from the standard set by the HX9V. The HX30V is a fast little beast that will also Geo-tag and transfer / share your photos with WiFi enabled devices. Sony has decided to redefine the photographic limitations of a compact ultra-zoom in this offering but the WiFi and PlayMemories software make the HX30V one of the most versatile and affordable compact cameras on the market to date. Enjoy! -TDD

you can customize it to change some options like ISO for example. I have it on my hx9v as well but I never use it.

Actually, even my DSLR lens have some dust in them. I read about dust in the lens and the opinion is that its ok. The lens needs to breathe and hence sucks in some dust. They should not be interfering with the pictures. Are you sure its not something else?

Great video, thanks just bought one. The going price is now $318. I got a “used” open box one for $250. It was brand new and I registered it for warranty. Love it. I really want to use the WiFi feature, and have not figured that out yet, but I did get my laptop to pair with the laptop with “Intel My WiFi Technology” using the protected pin method. This feature is the main reason I wanted, and the great features and quality make it all the sweeter.

I bought this camera 3 weeks ago and its excellent. But I have a problem and if anyone can help me I will apreciate it. The inner lens of the camera (the ones of the zoom) got dust in it. So the pictures are taken with dust and they look horrible. Can any one explain how to clean the inner lens please!!

Thanks for your nice video. I have same camera (DSC-HX 30V) but unfortunately it only has Japanese Language. I got it from Japan. I actually need English Language on it. Is it possible to Change firmware or any other technique which can make it a english version?

I Will check them out soon. I noticed this camera has a 1/2” sensor. While the RX100 has a 1” sensor, but the price point is double.
I was wondering what your take on this is? Do you think the RX100 is much better for 300$ more? I’m mainly interested in zoom and low light for concerts (meaning bigger light collection)
Also wondering why the sony handycams have a 1/4” sensor and cost the same ammount? I read the 29 minute video limit. Is some legal requirement.

The zoom is fully functional for video making this one of the best of pocket able cameras on the market. Have you watched any of my sample videos? Not sure what made you think the zoom was disabled for video. Thanks for watching!

The zs20 bites the dust from hx20/30 – too pricey though.

I can’t understand how camera connects to a computer for wifi sharing. I have a router that 3 computers and a printer are connected to. Do I connect to the router or to the computer directly? I installed sony’s program.

To me this is a camcorder in a flat package. It is expensive; most likely I will buy the Panasonic ZS20.
