I just bought this camera this week. Got it for $407 at Best Buy, Amazon price match. Does anyone have a recommendation on the best setting for taking close up sports pics..fast movement (pitching)? I have been using my iPhone for pics for the last 4 years!!

this camera is GREAT for concerts especially since concerts usually dont allow “proffesional” cameras aka dslrs. and this is a close second because its still a point and shoot. plus the zoom is incredible especially if you have seats pretty far back.

Hi there i have this camera, moved sideways i would say from a nikon d50, i find it great and easy to use, i purchased a charger and 2 spare batteries so charging batteries can be done out of the camera, so no down time when out taking photo’s. great camera.

Is there any difference between the P500 and the P510?. I noticed about the 36x and 42x zoom but nothing else.

Hey, have you come across “MagicSFXphoto” (just search on Google for it …)? On their website you will find a nice free video featuring how you can make fantastic photographs. It made it easier for Matt to shoot photos that have a wow-effect after you look at them. I hope it will help you too…

What did you use to record at 2:05? Lik tripod wise, I want whatever it is so bad. See it so much. Just don’t know what it is. I have been using a Nikon Coolpix S3100, just got my P500 about 3 hours ago and this review answered all of my questions. You can watch my videos on my page, can’t wait to use my P500 for uses like I used my S3100 for. Thanks!

There is no “best” camera. You should stop by your local camera store and hold them both. Try them out and then make a decision.
