That is not true. CRT displays (Cathode Ray Tube) emit radiations. The glass panel (typically lead glass) is designed to block out most of the radiation emitted from the tube. But a small amount still leaks out, and this amount is adjudged to be a absolutely no cause for concern.

There is radiation all around us. In the soil we walk on, in the water drink, in the food we eat, from the TV we watch. Moreover the average human now is exposed to more radiation than a human say 50 years back. That is because of advances in medicine, where radiation can be emitted from x-rays machines and CT scanners. The question is if or not the levels are dangerous. And it is VERY VERY VERY unlikely that the small piece of metal would be of any harm to us from simple contact by touch.

Yes, you can. You will need OM to EF adapter which you can get cheaply on Ebay.

Can the Olympus 1.4 lens be adapted to a Canon 600D ? If yes, what adapter do I need and where can I buy them?

How would they stack up against the Super Takumar 50mm 1.4 ?

Yes, all you need at a compatible xx to EF adapter. Most sellers on ebay mention what mount the lens comes in.

I dont have any other camera other than my 5D [GoPro doesnt count :]
But basically, searching for “______ to EF mount” should seal the deal for me, regarding a certain vintage lens? if you find an adapter that fits the vintage lens (M42 lets say) and on the other end it fits an EF lens mount- then am i 100% golden? do u think there are no extra risks of incompatibility? [gotts figute out what is the exact mount of the vintage lens first. that’s the hard part..for someone like moi 🙂

I think as the list is only for M42 lenses it will not completely answer your questions. 5D is one of the trickiest cameras with regarding the compatibility. I love my 5D, but I rarely now use it to test vintage lenses, I mostly test with Sony E-mount cameras as I know just about any lens will fit nicely.

Gotta say i checked for my Vivitar 28mm 2.0 and i didnt find it there..so i guess its a partial list… :

Im keeping an eye on eBay, but didnt find great deals on lenses. the prices went up, it seems. Also need to figure out exactly which mountsadapters should I buy for my 5D without taking the risk of the back of the lens-breaking the inside mirror.
this thing is tricky!

Next giveaway is coming really soon and it’s going to be a really special lens (i hope).
Most of my lenses came from eBay and I now have loads, but there are still so many out the that I don’t have. I think eBay is one of the best places to buy and sell them. I have the Olympus 1.8 too, in the box, like new. Need to test it out against 1.4 some day and them either sell or maybe even giveaway 🙂

fair enough, buddy :]
Now, when is the next vintage lens giveaways? :]
i dont know where youre getting these STOCKS & Stocks of vintage lenses from, but its cool! I have a few vintage lenses laying here but theyre all 50mm,so I really wanna mix it up and find longer and wider lenses instead. I would love to exchange, or maybe sell some of mine on eBay. Dont know how much to estimate them for atm. [got the Nikkor 50mm 1.8 micro-NIKKOR 55mm f2.8 OLYMPUS 50mm f1.8. dont have EF adapter for em atm

I’m not going to claim that I know anything about radiation of radioactive materials, so you could be right that it’s harmful, but as I said before, researching it is not giving me just 1 answer, so I’m not sure if anyone really knows for sure if it’s really harmful or people just being over cautious about it.
