Stereoscopy for Television

20 Jul

Stereoscopic 3D broadcasting is here, and post production professionals are thinking about how they can integrate this new technology into their workflows. Autodesk talks to broadcasters and post production facilities about the creative demands of supporting Stereoscopic 3D content. www.autodesk.com

In this second part of the tutorial, I explain how to maneuver your two cameras through 3D space together, producing a convincing stereoscopic effect when the eyes are crossed. Two things I forgot to mention in the video: 1. You’ll probably want to reposition the 3D cursor at some point. To do so, either right- or left-click, depending on your settings. 2. If at some point you want to go back to using object centers as the pivots for rotation and so forth, rather than the 3D cursor, press shift-comma.
