The Kamchatka Peninsula, located in the far eastern portion of Russia, is home to a passionate surfing community. You read that right – Russian surf community. The peninsula boasts excellent conditions for surfing, and its towering volcanic peaks make for a fantastic backdrop.
Surf photographer Tania Elisarieva is well familiar with what she describes as the ‘cold and harsh landscapes’ of Kamchatka, having grown up in the far north of Russia. Her photos capture the striking beauty of the place, from its snow-covered peaks to icy volcanic craters, and show the world another side of Russia.
