Fujifilm has formally announced the 90mm F2 R LM WR, a lens we saw in prototype at this year’s CP+ show in Japan. It gives a 137mm equivalent view on Fuji’s APS-C camera bodies, a popular focal length with portrait and event photographers. The lens uses 11 elements in 8 groups and offers a new Quad Linear Motor with four magnets for higher torque in autofocus. Read more
A new macro lens, a miniature standard prime and a teleconverter have been added to the Fujifilm X-Series roadmap, while a previously hinted-at lens has been given a definite focal length range in an announcement from the company’s headquarters. Phase One has announced official details of its new A-Series medium format cameras after information about the new pairing of the company’s digital backs with an Alpa body and lenses was leaked in November. As was reported at the time, the series will comprise Phase One 50MP, 60MP and 80MP backs, combined with the Alpa 12 TC body and a choice of three lenses – the Alpagon 5.6/23mm, Alpar 4.0/35mm and the Alpagon 5.6/70mm. The Nikon 1 V3 has been out of stock with many retailers online and elsewhere, making the mirrorless camera hard to come by. The duration of the stock shortage has prompted an apology from Nikon Japan, which it recently posted on its website. Read more
