A slow motion dive onto a trampoline covered with mouse traps

15 May

You’ve said it to yourself at least 100 times: ‘Hey, if only I had a trampoline, and maybe 1,000 mouse traps, I could have a jolly good time by climbing up a ladder and throwing myself on top of them all.’

We understand this is a bucket list item for an awful lot of people. After all, with trampolines readily available online, and mouse traps that can be ordered in bulk, why the heck not? Of course, if you’re being really honest with yourself, you’ll admit that the only thing holding you back from acting out this all-too-common fantasy is not having a $ 100,000 Phantom Flex 4K camera so that you share the experience in super-slow-motion on social media.

Thankfully, the Slow Mo Guys are around to help. It took them four hours to set everything up, and just a few seconds to take the plunge, but with super-slow-motion we get to see every detail.

Of course, this got us curious. If you had access to a Phantom Flex 4K, what would you shoot in slow motion?

Windows 8 – Bring Back the Mouse Pointer Drop Shadow

29 Apr

Make the Windows 8.1 mouse pointer stand out by adding a drop shadow.

As Windows 8.1 has adopted a flatter interface, gradients and drop shadows have been removed from a variety of places including the mouse pointer. If you feel that the mouse pointer drop shadow helps make it easier to spot on the Desktop, do the following:

1. Access the “Mouse” Control Panel. One way to do this is by pressing Windows + R, entering main.cpl and pressing Enter….

Windows 8 – Make Two More Time Zones a Mouse Hover Away

25 Apr

Communicate with people across time zones? Make two additional clocks available with a mouse hover over the Windows 8.1 Taskbar clock.

Do you often need to communicate with co-workers, extended family, or friends that live across the country or world? Stop waking them up at odd hours of the night or sending them an electronic mail or Skype request by not knowing their local time zone.

Two additional time zones can be added to the Windows 8.1 Desktop Taskbar, accessible by hovering over the clock. Clicking on the clock can display larger clocks of each configured time zone….

My New Kickstarter Project: Photographer’s Social Media Mouse

01 Apr

Ever since evangelizing the importance of social media to fellow photographers in 2006, I’ve long yearned for a tool to help balance photo/video editing time with the incredibly important task of marketing myself on social media. After years of research and prototyping I’m happy to announce a new Kickstarter project to realize my dream, a mouse designed especially for photographers who are super active on social media.
I’ve titled this project the Photographers’s Social Media Mouse.

Kickstarter Project: Photographer's Social Media Mouse

How it works is quite simple. Employing Bluetooth wireless technology the Photographer’s Social Media Mouse detects when a photographer has navigated to a web browser. With in 10 seconds of detecting activity on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Flickr, Instagram, 500px, MySpace, and Friendster a gentle yet firm 7,800,000 volt shock is applied to the finger of the user. The momentary sensation causes brief paralysis in the arm reminding the user that more important editing or business communications are the order of the day.

Additional Features

  • Designed for travel – More comfortable than a touchpad, instant-on performance for maximum productivity on the road
  • Smart power management – Long battery life, on & off switch, power-saving modes and a low-battery indicator light
  • Precision optical performance – 1000-dpi optical sensor technology for incredibly smooth, precise tracking
  • Convenient carrying case – Comes with pouch for easy storage.

Important product information: Batteries are not included, use of mouse is not recommended by left handed users to avoid direct current to the heart and avoid data loss by keeping mouse on an approved non-conductive mouse pad.

Your support is needed to make this a reality. To contribute visit my Kickstarter page.

Product Dimensions: 8.5 x 7 x 2.5 inches
Shipping Weight: 11.2 ounces
