and brings the elegant physique of a supercar to public transport. with dome cars, large geometric windows and a plush sofas, a trip on the rain suite shiki-shima is comparable to a luxury cruise.

“Okuyama nods to japanese artisanal crafts with his use of bentwood—made by curving wood with steam—to frame the sofas and seating. Meanwhile, oriental carpet mills takes car of the design under foot, using their signature ornate carpets that can already be found in the Vatican palace and Kyoto state guest house. The train consists of 17 rooms in total, with two large suite rooms and 15 smaller ones. JR east, the rail operator behind the luxury masterpiece, seeks to provide ‘a high-grade space’ that is currently unseen in existing railway journeys.”

James Bond Boat House large

Over the past half-century, the James Bond movie franchise has inspired countless suits, man caves and cheesy spy gadgets, but it has also led designers and architects to create some pretty incredible luxury yachts, jets, houses and accessories. There’s even a fan-designed laser watch that can light a match from across a room.

The luxury vehicle maker Aston Martin has been collaborating with the James Bond movie franchise for half a century, and recently unveiled its latest model, ‘DB10,’ for the upcoming ‘Spectre’ film. The British carmaker has designed a car for each of the 24 movies, but this one was developed under close watch of director Sam Mendes in order to create ‘Bond’s ultimate vehicle.’

McKenzie Strickland Associates essentially designed the Balnearn Boathouse, located on the shore of Loch Tay, after a James Bond movie marathon, envisioning a house that looks deceptively small and simple (if beautiful) from land, but boasting a fun secret. The home was built over an artificial cave that’s invisible from shore, so a speedboat can be driven in and tethered to the ceiling.

Fantasy Yachts Main

If you have a few hundred million in the bank (or just like to fantasize about it,) you’ll want to peruse this selection of superyachts decked out with retractible swimming pools, underwater karaoke suites, personal submarines and even supercars included as a ‘free gift.’ Or perhaps a massive yacht that doubles as a private artificial island complete with a water desalination system is more your speed.

ORSOS Island Yacht
Fantasy Yachts Orsos

If you’ve got $ 6.5 million to spare, you can have your very own floating artificial island that can be anchored anywhere in the world. The ORSOS is a superyacht with 1,000 square meters of living space, including room to sleep 12, an underwater karaoke suite, a jacuzzi, sun loungers, a dining room and an aquarium. While it has two small diesel engines for cruising short distances, it has to be towed for long journeys.

Superyacht that Comes with a Free Supercar

When you’re paying $ 25 million for a state-of-the-art superyacht powered by twin Rolls Royce engines, maybe it’s not so crazy to expect a free handcrafted supercar as a bonus. The Strand Craft 122 by Gray Design features an Art Deco interior, four double rooms, four large staterooms, a reception area and crew cabins and can go up to 50 knots, while the unnamed supercar achieves a top speed of 230 mph.

With its carved-out stern, the Infinitas by luxury boat designer Schöpfer Yachts looks like a bird skull skimming along the surface of the sea. The design inspiration actually comes from the symbol for infinity, which can be seen in the two large ‘eye’ openings from above. The 300-foot yacht has a pool deck, on-board elevator, helipad and glass-floored ‘sky bridge.’

Adastra Trimaran Yacht
