Tamron gives pricing and availability for 16-300mm F3.5-6.3 superzoom

Tamron has announced pricing and availability for its 16-300mm F3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD Macro 18.8x superzoom for APS-C SLRs. The lens, which was announced in February, will go on sale in mid-May at a street price of $ 629. The 16-300mm F3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD Macro will offer an unusually wide angle view for its class (24-450mm equivalent), while also allowing close-up shooting with 0.34x magnification. It has an ultrasonic-type autofocus motor, splashproof construction and optical image stabilization. Learn more

Panasonic UK announces price and availability for Lumix DMC-GH4

Panasonic UK has announced pricing and availability for its flagship 4K video-recording mirrorless camera, the Lumix DMC-GH4. It’ll go on sale on 5th May for £1299.99 body only, £1749.99 with 14-140mm zoom, or £2499.99 with the specialist DMW-YAGHE video interface unit.

Tamron announces availability of 150-600mm F/5-6.3 telephoto zoom

Tamron has announced that its SP 150-600mm F/5-6.3 Di VC USD telephoto zoom will go on sale on December 19th in Japan, and 17th January 2014 in the USA. The lens will feature optical image stabilization and an Ultrasonic Silent Drive autofocus motor, and be compatible with both full frame and APS-C SLRs. It will be available first in Canon mount, with Nikon and Sony versions to follow. Pricing is still to be confirmed.

Sigma announces pricing and availability of 24-105 F4 lens

Buried among all of the cameras announced last week was a new 24-105 F4 DG OS HSM lens from Sigma. The company has announced pricing and availability for this full-frame ‘Art lens’, which will be available for Canon, Nikon, Sigma, and Sony mounts (in that order). You’ll be able to pick one up for yourself starting next month at a retail price of $ 899.

Zeiss announces pricing and availability of Touit lenses for mirrorless cameras

Zeiss has announced that its first two Touit lenses for mirrorless cameras are now available for sale. The 12mm F2.8 wideangle has been designed according to the ‘Distagon optical concept’, and has an RRP of €920 / US$ 1,250 excluding VAT. Meanwhile the Planar-type 32mm F1.8 normal lens will cost €670 / US$ 900 excluding VAT. The lenses will be available to fit Sony NEX and Fujifilm X-system cameras, and the X-mount models feature aperture rings with 1/3 stop detents. The next model in the line, a 50mm F2.8 Macro, is expected to appear at the end of the year.

Sigma announces availability of 35mm F1.4 DG HSM for Sony and Pentax

In a brief note on its Japanese website, Sigma has announced that the Sony and Pentax mount versions of its highly-regarded 35mm F1.4 DG HSM ‘Art’ lens will go on sale on 31st May. It’s also announced that the Nikon-mount version of its 120-300mm F2.8 DG OS HSM ‘Sports’ telephoto zoom will be available at the same time. We gave the 35mm F1.4 our Gold Award when we reviewed it back in December, for its combination of exceptionally good optics and solid build at a price rather lower than the camera manufacturers’ equivalents.

Samsung announces price and availability of NX300 and 45mm F1.8 lens

Samsung has announced that its NX300 mirrorless camera will be available in both US and European markets by the end of this month as a kit with the 20-50mm lens for $ 749.99 and £599 respectively. The 3D-capable camera is built around a 20MP sensor, 3.3″ OLED screen and built-in Wi-Fi. The kit will also include a free copy of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4 editing software. The company has also announced that the 45mm F1.8 2D/3D lens will be available at the same time for $ 499.99. There is currently no information about its European price.

Sigma USA announces price and availability of DP3 Merrill

Sigma USA has announced the price and availability of its DP3 Merrill large sensor, fixed lens compact. The camera will be available from March 2013 at an estimated street price of $ 999. It is nearly identical to the earlier DP Merrill models featuring the familiar 15x3MP APS-C Foveon X3 sensor, but with a 50mm (75mm equiv.) F2.8 lens. Click through for the press release.

Tamron gives SP 24-70mm F2.8 Di VC USD price and availability

Tamron USA has announced pricing and availability of its SP 24-70mm F/2.8 Di VC USD image-stabilized fast zoom lens. Canon and Nikon mount versions of the lens will be available from April 26th 2012, at a MSRP of $ 1299. The Sony version, without image stabilization, will follow at a later, unspecified date. The lens is compatible with both full-frame and APS-C cameras, includes a moisture-resistant body, and a rounded aperture for attractive background blur.

Sony NEX-7 deliveries in USA to start soon – availability still limited

Sony USA has said the NEX-7 will begin to ship this month to some customers who pre-ordered it, following a halt in production cause by flooding in Thailand in October. Production is still limited but the company says it will ‘aggressively pursue all efforts to restore full capacity’ for the NEX-7 and other affected models (which is thought to include the NEX-5N, A65 and A77).
