This is my very first time-lapse video but I hope it won’t be my last one. I want to thank you my wife by taking care our children when I was away for this project most of the time. Without her help I can’t finished this so fast. At first I was planing to complete this time lapse project in 3 months, but I manage to speed up the process by half. It took me almost 6 weeks to complete this 6135 photos time lapse video. In these 6 weeks I went out to shoot more than 30 times in over 20 locations of Penang Island. Most of the time I have to trade sleep for light. The goal was to capture the beauty of our Penang Island , which I call it a HOME. Not only are they the world leader, they work with some of the top companies out there, like: • Boeing, Sikorsky, and Lockheed Martin • Stryker medical • Gibson, Taylor, Ovation Guitars • Orange County Choppers • Racing teams like Stewart Haas Racing, Waltrip Racing, Cunningham Motorsports, John Force, Roush Yates, Rod Millen • Mont Blanc • Segway • RayBan Just to name a few. The purpose of the trip was to teach their person how to shoot the kind of components their software (and clients) produce and of course regardless of the company, they are ALL shiny and reflective. And the setup could not have been simpler, 3 white cards, 2 LED flashlights, foam core, some tape, light stands and a couple gels. The results were as good as the setup was easy and we are going to share how it was done in this video. Short film shot with the Nikon D300s and Nikkor 70-200/2.8 VR lens, no filters. Edited in iMovie ’09, no colour grading or curves added to the footage. The scenes were shot from sunset and up to an hour after that, so in the last part it was fairly dark and I had to wear a headlamp to find my way home.
