YOU WILL NEED RED/CYAN 3D GLASSES TO VIEW THIS FILM CORRECTLY! At the moment YouTube’s compression has made the film unwatchable at full screen, I’ll try uploading it in Divx format when I get the time. Be warned, this film contains a rather unpleasant reversed vomiting scene (that’s tea in his mouth by the way) This is the first time I’ve experimented using 2 cameras to create a 3D effect. This film is not meant to be a great artistic statement or anything it’s just a muck about to see what works and what doesn’t. It seems to work, though some things must be considered. Due to rendering errors (it was too late to do anything about this) the edges of moving objects are jagged which dulls the 3D effect as well as looking ugly. For effective, smooth 3D, the camera(s) must be kept as static as possible, especially horizontally. This did not happen very often. All the shots are poorly framed and lit. I am aware of this. It’s partly due to the fact that to ensure both camera’s images are identical the settings must be set to “auto”. Also editing 3D footage is really hard work, wearing coloured glasses while rearranging 2 overlapping bits of film causes blinding headaches and nausea after an hour or so. Anyway, this proves that I can make the concept work so hopefully I can make a much more polished film in the future. I’m not a skilled musician. Would have been nice to spend longer on the soundtrack. That’s half an hours work on Orion and Reaktor.

We built this MEDICAL ANIMATION from the ground up to showcase the talents of ghOst Productions at the 2009 American Association of Orthopedic Surgeons in Las Vegas. Instead of showing pre-existing client work in our reel, we thought it would be more fun to make a character animation, break nearly every bone in his body and then surgically repair him in under 3 minutes.
In this video i show you 2 ways to apply motion blur to an image of a stationary car to make it looks like it is moving. This tutorial uses the free software called GIMP which has many of the same controls as adobe photoshop and also with its easy use of layermasks makes it more simple than adobe photoshop elements. This is not a case of cheating photography but enhancing your images post produciton. I will also show you how to make the car stand out even more after applying motion blur. Hope this helps kind regards dom please subscribe www.dombower.com

My final project for my Language of Animation class at the Art Institute of Colorado. Features my custom Bionicle character Cyron, that I created back in 2005 in the walk cycle test ( www.youtube.com ) and it’s buddy Spinax, the energy hound Rahi, playing some Pokemon. A seemingly harmess game, but perhaps they’ve been playing TOO much of it? Approximately 4 days and over a thousand frames. Subtitles are included! This was entered into the school’s animation competition, The REEL Thing, but the showing was canceled due to a snowstorm about a month back so I have to wait and see how well it did. Update 04/22/09: I found out today that I won first prize in the animation category! I got a free copy of Corel Painter X (retail worth about 0) so I’m very excited and honored! Also kinda sad how both me a my bestest college buddy Ceil, (who won best in show for her motion graphics piece) who are not even done with our first year yet, pawned all the “elite” animation students’ work entered into the competition. Makes you wonder… — 2009 Pokemon Costume Hint #3: Its main color is a shade of yellow.
