Adobe has announced that Lightroom Mobile – first released for the iPad back in April – is now available for the Apple iPhone. Available for owners of Lightroom 5 for desktop, Lightroom Mobile essentially allows you to work on images on an Apple iPad or iPhone and sync adjustments between mobile and desktop versions of the software. Following last week’s video teasing the release of a new feature coming to Photoshop CC, Adobe has made the update official. Adobe has announced a new pricing plan for photographers that bundles Lightroom 5 and Photoshop Creative Cloud together for $ 9.99 per month. This plan makes it possible for photographers whose only interest is image editing to make use of both of these apps without signing up for a much costlier subscription to the complete Creative Cloud suite. Adobe has released a video sneak-peek of a new feature due to be introduced into Creative Cloud which the company is calling ‘Focus masks’. In the video, Zorana Gee, senior Photoshop product manager explains that with focus masks, Adobe is ‘adding a new way to make an automatic selection based [on] pixels that are in focus versus out of focus’. Adobe has made Camera Raw and DNG Converter 8.5 release candidates available for download. A short list of cameras are added for ACR support including the Canon Powershot G1 X Mark II, Olympus OM-D E-M10 and the Panasonic GH4 (with preliminary support). Camera Raw 8 users with Photoshop CS6 will get new camera support, lens profiles and bug fixes, but a few new features are added for Photoshop CC subscribers. Read more

Adobe has rolled out version 1.6.0.393 of Adobe Creative Cloud, bringing some new features and improved file transfer support. The biggest addition that this update brings to Creative Cloud is the ability to install previous versions of Adobe’s design tools directly from the Creative Cloud installer. Graphics professionals and creatives will be able to maintain legacy versions of CC apps without having to juggle multiple serial numbers. Read more

DxO Labs has released version 9.5 of its DxO Optics Pro software. This new release adds a non-destructive workflow that is completely integrated within Lightroom. It allows users to transfer Raw images from Lightroom cataloguer to DxO Optics Pro, process them, and then return them to Lightroom in Adobe’s open DNG format. Learn more

Adobe has released Lightroom mobile for Apple’s iPad as a companion app to the Lightroom desktop application. The app offers many of same image editing and organizing functions found on the desktop version. Camera Raw 8.4 is now available as a final release for Photoshop CS6 and Photoshop CC. Lightroom 5.4 is also now on Adobe.com and available through the update mechanism in the application. The updates include bug fixes, new features and support for a number of new cameras such as the Nikon D4s and D3300, Canon PowerShot G1 X Mark II, Olympus OM-D E-M10 and Fujifilm X-T1. Learn more
