Samsung NX1 discontinued in Europe? Rumors say ‘yes’ (Updated)

A story on video blog EOSHD claims that Samsung has discontinued its NX1 mirrorless camera across Europe. An email that one of the site’s forum users claims to be from Samsung states that ‘in Europe, we will be discontinuing sales of NX1 cameras for now since there is already much better and upgraded cameras’. We’re quite skeptical about this rumor and have reached out to Samsung for comment, so stay tuned. Update: rumor is almost certainly false. Read more

M & M: Leica SL Typ 601 real-world gallery updated with M-series lens samples

The Leica SL Typ 601 is the German manufacturer’s first foray into the full-frame mirrorless world, offering a 24MP CMOS sensor in a weather-sealed, milled-aluminum body. Three SL lenses have been introduced for the system, but an M-mount adapter opens up a number of possibilities for the camera. We took advantage of some limited time to shoot with the SL and the Summilux-M 35mm F1.4 ASPH and 50mm F1.4 – see what the combination looks like. Read more

Our Sony Cyber-shot RX100 IV first impressions continues to grow as we’ve added a variety of video samples to the preview. The RX100 IV is Sony’s latest enthusiast compact, and its 20MP 1″-type stacked CMOS sensor is capable of 4K video and slow-motion clips ranging from 120-960 fps, all with virtually no rolling shutter. Olympus preparing to bring updated OM-D-like Stylus 1s to UK market

Olympus has announced that the Stylus 1s compact superzoom will be coming to the UK in early summer, and will cost £429.99. The camera, an updated version of the original Stylus 1, has already been on sale in Japan since the end of 2014 and was launched in the USA in April this year. Read more
