CP+ 2013 – lenses from Nikon and Sigma

01 Feb

P1290070.JPG

CP+ 2013: Nikon has several examples of its 18-35mm F3.5-4.5G ED consumer-level wide-angle full-frame zoom on show, while Sigma has re-designed and re-worked several of its most interesting lenses, which are being shown in prototype form at its stand. This includes a new version of its 30mm F1.4 for APS-C DSLRs. And, while none are available to shot with yet, we got a chance to handle them, along with the portrait-friendly Sigma DP3 Merrill.

Ultimate Nikon D5100 HD video test review, Fast moving object.

01 Feb

Filmed at 10mm. A boat in waves, lots of spray, pitching rolling, movement, very intricate detailed waves flying past. Can the camera cope? Watch the video to see. The lens was a Tamron 10-24mm with a polarising filter fitted, the lens was around 10mm when filming, to get an ultra wide view of the boat. The spray and the boat are fast moving and complex, great test to see how the camera copes with moving objects. The new Nikon d5100 has a 16.2 MP CMOS sensor much like that in the D7000, 1080p movie capability and a side-articulated 921K dot 3.0″ tilt/swivel LCD. The D5100 also becomes the first Nikon DSLR to be able to apply special processing filters to stills and video. The company has also introduced the ME-1 external microphone. The camera will be available from this month as a kit with the 18-55mm VR lens for 9.95 while the microphone will retail at 9.99.

Nikon Zoom-Nikkor 43-86mm 1:3.5 Ai lens – Video Tests

31 Jan

In this episode I do a short set of video samples using the Nikon Zoom-Nikkor 43-86mm 1:3.5 Ai lens. This may be an old lens but it can still shoot some great video when coupled with a modern DSLR! Nikon 43-86mm 1:3.5 Ai Zoom-Nikkor lens: amzn.to This lens will work great on DX Nikon DSLRs for video or photos in Manual mode (‘M’ on the dial) only with Live view turned on. -soon I will post a video with a trick I found out to get them to work without Live View, comment if you need to know now! Please check your compatibility first! For Canon or other DSLRs, or micro four thirds cameras please look into lens adapters, they are a great option to get some inexpensive older Nikon glass on whatever you shoot with. Start Using The Nikon D5000 In Just 2 Minutes

29 Jan

Start Using The Nikon D5000 in Just 2 Minutes By EasyRaoul Copyright 2009 Start using the Nikon D5000 in just two minutes. Check the lens thats attached to the D5000. If the lens have these controls, set the following: Set the A and M switch to A Set the VR switch to On Set the Mode dial to Auto. This is the icon with the green camera. Turn the camera ON by turning the ON / OFF knob around the shutter button to the left. Look through the viewfinder. Compose your shot. Press the shutter button just slightly and halfway. This will operate the Autofocus function. The viewfinder will indicate by several flashing Red boxes which elements or subjects within the frame are in sharp focus. If your chosen subject has not been overlayed with the red box, meaning it is not in focus, just lift your finger off the shutter button and repeat the autofocus operation. If your subject has the red box indicator over it, then it is in focus. Press the shutter button all the way and take the picture. The image appears on the LCD monitor at the back of the camera. If the image doesnt appear, press the Playback button and the image will be shown. Start using the Nikon D5000 in just 2 minutes.
