Nikon CLS with D80 – Setting Up

This video is a gift to one of the YouTubers, Michael (joey75220). This video demonstrates shows you the steps to set your D80’s pop-up flash as the commander for Nikon Creative Lighting System (CLS) with both flashes of Nikon SB-600 and SB-800. This video also apply to D70 / D70s / D80 / D200 / D300 / D300s / D700 because these D-SLR’s are compatible with Nikon Creative Lighting System feature using built-in popup flash. D1 / D2 / D3-Series / F-Series do not have pop-up flash and does not have internal Nikon Creative Lighting System feature but you can do one of these: use a flash unit as a master flash (SB-800 or SB-900 only), use a SU-800 Commander, or use a Pocketwizard unit to trigger the remote flashes. D3000 / D5000 / D40 / D40X / D50 / D100 does not have internal Nikon Creative Lighting System feature but you can use the popup flash in manual mode and set the SB-800 / SB-900 for SU-4 mode then set the SB-800 / SB-900 for manual OR you can pair it up with Pocketwizards and it will fire, no problem. Nikon D300s Video and Depth of Field Test

Just a quick test to see what the footage on my D300s is like, and how creative I could be with my lenses using depth of field. This is only 480p. I’m currently making a video in 720p Which I will upload when it’s finished. Lenses Used; Nikon 10.5mm Fisheye Nikon 18-55mm Tamron 70-300mm Zoom I am very pleased with the results. Edited using Pinnacle Studio Plus 11 It’s cold outside at the moment…

Nikon V1 comparison shots added to dpreview database

We’ve just posted studio test samples from the Nikon V1 – the Japanese manufacturer’s enthusiast-targeted small sensor mirrorless camera which is built around what the company is calling a ‘CX’ format 10MP CMOS sensor. In the process of working on the forthcoming in-depth review of the V1, we have shot our standard studio test scene. To allow easy comparison with its peers, we have now added these shots – both out of camera JPEGs and processed RAW files (with Adobe ACR 6.6 Beta) – to our comparison tool, found in our existing reviews. The V1 can now be selected from the pull-down list within any review or in our standalone comparison tool.
