In this episode I talk about a couple of affordable manual pancake lenses from the film photography era that work great with video DSLRs. I compare two versions of Nikon’s 50mm 1.8, one with multi-coating, and one without. Official Lens names: Nikon Nikkor AI-S 50mm 1.8 NEW MIJ Nikon Series E 50mm 1.8 NEW MIJ Blog post: fromtheraw.blogspot.com These will work great on DX Nikon DSLRs for video or photos in Manual mode (‘M’ on the dial) only with Live view turned on. -soon I will post a video with a trick I found out to get them to work without Live View, comment if you need to know now! Please check your compatibility first! For Canon or other DSLRs, or micro four thirds cameras please look into lens adapters, they are a great option to get some inexpensive older Nikon glass on whatever you shoot with. www.customidea.com What is geotagging? It’s a question we often get asked by Nikon camera owners yet this area of photography is becoming very popular. Geo tagging, more often called ‘geotagging’ is the process of adding geotags to your photos. Geo tags, or ‘geotags’ are extra tags of data which include latitude longitude and altitude and together define a specific location. Wouldn’t it be great if all your Picasa or Photobucket images included the exact location they were taken? Well fortunately your favourite DSLR, for example the D200, D700 or D3 and many others already support geotagging and now, instead of buying an expensive Garmin and a long adaptor cable you can buy a direct connect geotagger — the GeoPic II. This great geotagger will geotag your pictures direct on the Nikon camera and straight into the EXIF data. Once the tags are there you can use your favourite photo managing software, for example Picasa, or Adobe Photoshop, or other software like Opanda, KUSO EXIF viewer, Nikon ViewNX, Apple Preview and JetPhoto Studio to use the tags. Typically photographers use the software to see their photos overlaid on a map which is a great way to display your pictures. This HD video shows just how easy it is to connect a GeoPic II to your Nikon camera and start geotagging your photos. It also shows how to see and use the geotags later in Picasa and Google Earth. razzi.me www.facebook.com www.PhotographersOnUTube.com https Here is a quick review of Yongnuo YN560 flash. It’s a great flash for people on a tight budget. It’s a manual flash without TTL feature. It doesn’t have the LCD screen unlike YN560II flash which I’ll be reviewing in a few weeks. Video Rating: 4 / 5

Just Posted: Nikon D5200 in-hand preview. We’ve been able to spend some time with Nikon’s latest mass-market DSLR – the 24MP D5200. At first glance it’s nearly indistinguishable from its predecessor, the D5100, but beyond the sensor, it also gains the 39-point AF system and 2,016 pixel metering sensor from the D7000. This represents a significant step up for this class of DSLR. It also has the option to join the ‘connected camera’ set, with the option of a clip-on Wi-Fi unit. Is this enough to keep the D5200 relevant amongst its smaller mirrorless rivals?
dombowerphoto.blogspot.com hello, here is the video i have been meaning to finish. Its the review of the very expensive nikon 70-200vr AF-S lens costing around £1300 at the moment. I have put in some of the photos from the film that is being directed by Gayle Baird and also a bit of footage from the short film, the conclusion of the lens may not be what you were expecting. This is a simple product unboxing/review/test of the Yongnuo RF-603 N3 2.4GHz Wireless Flash Trigger/Wireless Shutter Release Transceiver Kit. This is the Nikon version they do make them for Canon. *****Update***** I just got a set of the Yongnuo RF-603 N1 that is for the Nikon pro line up to see if the transceiver where the same and work as only flash triggers for additional flashes and yes they are the same. So if you are looking for ONLY the flash trigger part the N1 version will work as well. (all of the Yongnuo RF-603 will work the on what ever camera you need them to the only difference in the version is the cable for the Wireless Shutter Release) I also tested the flash trigger with my old D70 and it works perfectly as well it even works at 500/sec sync speed that it is capable of. The 50-150mm f/2.8 EX DC OS HSM APO Lens for Nikon F from Sigma is a fast f/2.8 telephoto zoom lens with a 50-150mm focal length (75-225mm equivalent in 35mm format) designed for cameras with a Nikon F mount. This long autofocus telephoto gets you close to the action, and it has an optical image stabilization system that makes it possible to hand-hold the lens at up to four shutter speeds slower than usual, while maintaining sharp, shake-free images. The Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM) gives you quiet, high-speed autofocus, and also allows full-time manual focus override. Six SLD glass elements help prevent chromatic aberrations, and provide excellent image quality throughout the zoom range. Super Multi Coating on the glass surfaces reduces flare and ghosting, and helps ensure high-contrast images. The 9-blade diaphragm gives a very pleasing quality to the out-of-focus areas of your photos (generally known as bokeh). A built-in tripod collar provides a solid mount when it’s placed on a tripod.
