Nikon patents revive the dream of a digital back for film SLRs?

20 Dec

NikonF.png

A patent filed by Nikon in Japan appears to revive the long-held dream of adding a digital sensor to an existing film SLR. The Japanese Engineering Accomplishment blog found the recently published patent that shows a mechanism for mounting and adjusting the position of a digital sensor on a rear door that could be used to replace the conventional film door. However, the patent only covers the mounting of the sensor relative to the film guides – it doesn’t address any of the hurdles that have stood in the way of anyone realizing this long-discussed idea. Top Five Tips to Help you Buy a Digital Camera

19 Dec

live.pirillo.com – You’re buying a camera, but you have absolutely no idea what is best suited to your needs. Even for a seasoned photographer, it can be tough. Try to keep these tips in mind next time you’re shopping for a new camera.

SmokingStrobes.com – I connected the dots between the DSLR hd video features and the growing market for microstock video. In the process I found a cool way to overcome my challenges with recording high quality hd video – and the awesome photographer Drew Gardner played a majore role in that. In this video I am going to tell you how I go about to take this chance as a photographer. The DSLR video capabilities make it possible for us to produce video in absolutely brilliant cinematic quality on a shoestring budget. This has never been possible before. I guess those of us who take this chance and develop this discipline will seriously clean up. And even if it is not about the commercial intent, I found that shooting video is actually a lot of fun, once I knew certain tricks.

Master of Rock-n-Roll Couture! Digital Photo Pro Magazine

My Interview and Work Featured in the
Master’s Special of DPP this Month!

I love Digital Photo Pro Magazine. And I LOVE their title for my story. You can only imagine my happiness when they sent me an email requesting an interview with me to do a write up about myself and my fashion photography for their Master’s Issue. You can read the Full Article Here. First of all, the word “Master” sort of hit me sideways. I don’t consider myself a Master yet, but I was very moved by the compliment. It isn’t every day that a magazine like Digital Photo Pro writes me and tells me that they think I’m a master and would like to do a story about me!

At any rate, enough said. I just want to share the article with you. And if you follow my work, it would be nice to pick up a copy of the magazine. If you have not heard of Digital Photo Pro, it is a great magazine for any photographer, honestly.  They write great articles featuring photographers like Indira Cesarine and David Alan Harvey, who also are in the Master’s Special Edition. they share the latest information on gear and technology as well as monthly profiles on photographers that we all admire. Not to mention, it has great business advice and tips for both photographers starting up their new businesses to people like myself who constantly need to stay in the know on the latest business practices. You can subscribe and save if you’re interested in getting DPP sent to you in the mail.

Enjoy the article!
