NOAA Titanic Expedition 2004: Breathtaking Wreck Footage

20 May

Breathtaking… Nearly 20 years after first finding the sunken remains of the RMS Titanic, marine explorer Robert Ballard returned in June 2004 helped by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Office of Ocean Exploration to study the ship’s rapid deterioration. The RMS Titanic team worked aboard the NOAA Ship Ronald H. Brown from May 30 through June 9 spending 11 days at the wreck site, mapping the ship and conducting scientific analysis of its deterioration. Using the Institute for Exploration (IFE) remotely operated vehicles (ROV’s) Hercules and Argus, to conduct a sophisticated documentation of the state of Titanic was not possible in the 1980’s. This “Look, don’t touch” mission utilized high-definition video and stereoscopic still images to provide an updated assessment of the wreck site at an enormous depth of 3840 meters (12600 feet). As the nation’s ocean agency, NOAA has a vested interest in the scientific and cultural aspects of the Titanic, and in its appropriate treatment and preservation. NOAA’s focus is to build a baseline of scientific information from which we can measure the shipwreck’s processes and deterioration, and then apply the knowledge we gain to other deep-water shipwrecks and submerged cultural resources. Visualization of Quick sort

20 May

This video was created for www.zutopedia.com It demonstrates two comparison sorting algorithms Bubble sort and Quick sort. Comparison sorting algorithms are only allowed to ‘see’ the data through a sequence of pair-wise comparisons, therefore they are applicable to any type of comparable objects: numbers, strings, colored balls, etc Bubble sort is very simple but has poor performance. A comparison sorting algorithm’s performance is usually measured by the number of comparisons it makes. Bubble sort performs on the order of n^2 comparisons to sort n elements. Quick sort is only slightly more complicated but usually performs much better (as demonstrated in the video). It performs on average an order of n log(n) comparisons to sort n elements. This is much lower than n^2 for large values of n. However, if the algorithm makes some ‘unlucky’ choices it might require n^2 comparisons after all. Other algorithms exist that guarantee the number of comparisons will not exceed n log(n), however, in practice Quick sort usually out-performs all other comparison sorting algorithms due to its simplicity. If other operations other than pair-wise comparisons are allowed, then a broader range of algorithms can be used. Some of them can perform much faster than Quick sort, but they are limited to a particular type of elements, eg, numbers is a certain range.

Part 1: Analysis of the Lunar Photography – This compelling video throws into serious doubt the authenticity of the Apollo missions and features information that challenges the declared abilities of NASA to successfully send a man to the Moon and return him safely to Earth. New evidence clearly suggests that NASA hoaxed pictures allegedly taken on the lunar surface. These findings are supported by analysis and the testimony of experts from a wide variety of scientific disciplines. Note: This was the hardest film for us to post here at UFOTV, as most of us were born around the Apollo era and many of us hold NASA’s achievement of landing a Man on the Moon and bringing him safely back, as sacred. But in the interest of remaining neutral and posting all information on controversies in science, regardless of our personal beliefs and those of the management at UFOTV, we bring you what critics have chosen as the greatest filmed investigation on this matter to date. As powerful as the evidence presented in this film and its sister film may seem, we highly recommend that you view our film called “Quantum Hologram & ESP – Astronaut Edgar Mitchell,” that sheds light on Edgar Mitchell’s experience as the 6th man to walk upon the Moon and his experience aboard Apollo 14 at that time. His experience during this mission as described on this presentation must not be overlooked.
