HTC EVO 3D Hands-On by Aaron The EVO line continues! Aaron gets some hands-on time with the HTC EVO 3D, a new device announced at CTIA 2011 in Orlando. It’s rocking a 1.2 GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, 4.3-inch stereoscopic display (though it’s long and narrow), dual 5-megapixel cameras for 3D video capture, front-facing camera, and Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) with the newest version of HTC Sense. Summary of 2010: Part 1

At some point I dubbed 2010 the year of the test shoot.  I’m way too lazy to go count how many shoots I did but it was the most in any given year so far, for me.  Somewhere early on last year I decided I was a bit in a funk, creatively.   I knew it was there but I didn’t quite know how to get out.  Oh I tried little things here and there, and they seemed to work for a little bit but it wasn’t until I went on a trip to Southern California about a month or two ago that I really think I figured it out.

I’ll spare you the details, but sufficeth to say that the era of test shoots is behind me, for now… so, here is a fitting memorial to 2010.  A best of sort of a thing.  :-)

orbis™ ring flash episode 005 – Nikon CLS setup

The basics of setting up Nikon’s Wireless “Creative Lighting System” using a Nikon D90 and an SB800. With some examples of off-camera flash photos with and without the orbis™ ring flash. The pop-up flash on the D70, D70S, D80, D90, D200, D300 and D700 can all be used to fire Nikon flashes wirelessly, check your manual for details. All of these have a similar setup screen that you’ll see in this video, except the D70 and D80. There’s a Nikon online help topic to find out more here: twu.sh .
