Nikon D300

20 May

Here you see I unpack my new Nikon D300

Golfview Elementary School in Community School District 300 is officially “Gold with Distinction.” In taking the Healthier US School Challenge, Golfview improved their school lunch menus, provided 90 minutes of physical education year round for all students, and included nutrition education as part of their curriculum. Golfview will be honored by the United States Department of Agriculture as the first non-chartered school in Illinois, and among the first schools in the entire United States, to earn this honor. When I heard this news, I took to the streets of New York City and started singing… and dancing… to tell everyone what an amazingly healthy school Golfview is! And we filmed it! It’s an original song and music video written just for D300 in celebration of their challenge conquered. The video also features students from Golfview Elementary, Principal Trish Whitecotton, PE Teacher Lianne Tompkins, and food service employees from Aramark. The video debuts at the Golfview award ceremony on February 4th. The Gold with Distinction award is endorsed by First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move! campaign to reduce childhood obesity. The February 4th ceremony at Golfview is well timed to the first anniversary of the national Let’s Move! campaign launch. This video is also a sneak peak for the weeks to follow for The Rockstar Nutritonist. The rock ‘n roll nutrition show Jump with Jill show will be coming to Carpentersville, IL for 22 performances from Feb 7 to Feb 18th. For

What an amazing job it would be to photograph the president day in and day out. You get to go everywhere see everything even hear everything. This job also has to be tough, as you have to be everywhere the president is and capture the good with the bad. Please click the link to read more.

This is a video of art and photography by various artists. I love art and photography so I just thought I’d share my video with you guys…

Figaro Pho – Bromidrosiphobia (Bodily Odours)

20 May

Figaro ventures out for a short bus ride to the local village. Whilst smelling a fragrant rose, Figaro’s tranquility is shattered by the arrival of a very, very stinky man who sits right next to Figaro despite the fact that every other seat is free.

I was messing around in Lightwave for few hours yesterday, and doodled out this dragon head… It is a work in progress, as I did not have the time to finish it. But I intend to get back to it sometime soon, and complete it, as well as animate it. When I do, I’ll record it and post it here as well. I think it is worth mentioning that I have only been messing with 3D for a little over a year now… So I’m sure all of you 3D gurus out there will find many flaws in my workflow. I apologize for the quality of the video in some parts… I did this on a mac, and the graphics card in it stinks. Not to mention, I am used to animating/sculpting on a boxxtech windows based machine. (far superior for this type of work, to me anyway). I may not leave this video up for very long, as I realize it is hard to see just what the heck I am doing. Time-lapse doesn’t work as well for me on this as it does on my painting workflow. Timelapsed video… Actual time 3 or 4 hours. Lightwave 9.3.1 Mac OS X

Harsh Shadows

20 May

As a photographer I love an overcast sky.  The soft milky light just seems to drip into every shadow and give it an effervescent glow, I usually flee from the bright sun and the harsh shadows it leaves in it’s wake.

But sometimes you gotta just face the bright sun full on.

Shot with natural light.
