Feed insects to a flying virtual pet bat on your iGoogle page.

Think you have added every type of available virtual pet to your iGoogle page? If so, check out “Batty”, a virtual pet bat from Gadzi and Bunnyhero Labs.

Click on the sleeping bat to start its flight, then hover over the “More” tab and click on a fly to send it away. Complete with audio (!) and visual effects, the bat will use its sonar to track and chomp on the doomed insect. This gadget can be maximized if desired….

Friday Freebie iPad Wallpaper – Big Sur Surf

08 Feb

This Weeks Friday Freebie iPad Wallpaper: Big Sur Surf
Friday Freebie features an image to liven up your iPad display with images from my travels… all for free.

Last week I received some inquiries to desktop wallpaper. For the time being I’m going to stick to iPad wallpaper, but inevitably I will expand to include desktop wallpaper. Stay tuned.

This particular photo was taken the same day I photographed Big Sur Crashing Surf. As I waited for golden hour light I couldn’t help but explore capturing the motion and color of the water. If there is one iconic characteristic of the coastal waters off Big Sur it is the amazing aqua and blue tones seen in this image. If you’re fond of similar surf photos be sure to check out my my photography collection of surf pictures.

Before you run off to start your weekend click the iPad above or here to download your free iPad wallpaper. Have a great weekend!

Note: This image is distributed for personal use only and all rights are reserved. If interested in using this photograph commercially please contact me.

Need to find the original location on your hard drive of a photo viewed in Windows Live Photo Gallery 2011?

If you have Windows Live Photo Gallery 2011 monitoring multiple folders for photos, you might need to find a file’s original location via Windows Explorer. This way you can copy (backup) photos to a different location or removable storage, rename a photo’s filename, or perform other file manipulation tasks.

Luckily, finding this information is easy. From the gallery, just right-click a photo and choose “Open file location” as seen in the below screenshot:…

Die perfekte Musik zur Bildbearbeitung

08 Feb
Konzert

Microsoft Visio 2010 – Make It Easier to Select Multiple Shapes

08 Feb

When using a selection rectangle in Visio 2010, select objects even if the rectangle does not completely surround them.

When trying to select multiple shapes in a Microsoft Visio 2010 diagram by creating a selection rectangle, you might find the process tricky as Visio requires you to completely surround each shape for it to be added to the selection. This can especially be true if you are editing a diagram on a laptop and using a touchpad / trackpad or other non-mouse pointing device.

By making a simple tweak, you can add objects to the selection by surrounding only part of them with a selection rectangle. While this may cause inadvertent selections in some cases, you might find the ease in selecting a large group of objects to more than make up for that in the long run….
