Doodling a 3D Dragon… pt 2

16 Feb

Here is a continuation of my messing around in Lightwave… On this vid (which is time-lapsed) I add the eyes as well as some morphs. At the end of this clip are some animations that not to be viewed as finished animation, rather test comps which lead up to the finished animation coming soon. I did these to check for errors as well as comp out how I want to light it, etc. And again, as a disclaimer I wish to mention that I have only been messing with 3D for a little over a year now… So I’m sure all of you 3D gurus out there will find many flaws in my workflow.

“Living” Sculptures (Photoshop)

16 Feb

A continuation of a previous idea. Though opinions varied widely on the characteristics of some of these emperors, Gods, Goddesses, etc., I did try to find some consensus about certain attributes when I could. *The reason for only partial restoration limited mostly to skin: I used that as the bridge between the past when they lived and the present where only their statues remain. Black Hole -from Einstein to Hawking- a journey through time and space in Stereo 3D by 21Horizon

15 Feb

This short animation takes as a starting point a technical drawing by Einstein. This clip is in stereoscopic 3D. See www.3dbritain.co.uk for more about Stereo 3D. His little sketch already contains all essential ideas about black hole physics which are later elaborated by Hawking and Penrose. The clip begins with a technical letter by Einstein sent to a fellow scientist. This part of the clip has no stereo depth. I then develop Einstein’s ideas of space and time as expressed in the letter. The technical drawing transforms into Schwarzschild spacetime displayed in stereoscopic 3D. This video is produced by 21Horizon/London

When retouching with Adobe Photoshop, you need to be efficient. This demo by Suzette Allen is from her video set VSP for Photographers VCD #5. This is a speed demonstration on how retouching can be done efficiently using presets and actions. It does not go into detail on how to do each task–or how to setup the tools and actions–that is explained later on in the video! www.vitalskillsforphotographers.com

This is the effect you sometimes see on black and white posters of children with that slight touch of color. It’s a pretty easy effect and it can be very beautiful for portraits of children or weddings.
