www.dombower.com This video is a slow one showing the editing power of raw compared to jpeg. Although you should never have to change your images by 4 stops in post production this video is showing a point not a purpose. The extra amount of detail that is captured by raw images in highlight details and the lack of noise in shadows when brightened in post production.

An impromptu product shot at Foppiano Vineyards in Sonoma County, Ca. This session preceded the weekend Tamron Road series workshop at Shutterbug Camera in Norhern California. We didn’t have all the right lighting gear, but we improvised well enough to get a decent shot of one of their wine bottles. In a conventional studio session, we’d have used much larger diffusion panels…but, sometimes you work with what’s available. Massive reflections in the highly reflective glass bottle were tamed with the use of some off-camera flash units, shot thru a Lastolite EZ Box. A second flash was used to ad brightness to the dark background.

Israeli photographer wins Pulitzer Prize

Photographer Oded Baliti was all smiles on Tuesday and a bit unsure of how to handle the interest and good cheer, for being awarded the Pulitzer Prize.Baliti told Infolive.tv that he was sure there were better photos than the one chosen for the award. The powerful and vivid photo that won the esteemed prize was taken in Amona, the day security forces clashed with settlers during its evacuation.
