The Gift of The Magi

17 Oct

The holidays reveal the ways of the heart as a husband and wife discover the true meaning of love and sacrifice in this rewarding adaptation of O. Henry’s beloved classic. The quaint little town of Dillingham, New England is the new home for newlyweds Jim and Della Young. So in love, they see far beyond their modest first house with its worn furniture, peeling paint, garage sale dishes, and one very used beater car. After all, they have each other and their dreams. For Jim, it’s restoring his late father’s vintage ’55 Chevy Bel Air convertible—close to perfection save for missing a steering wheel. For Della, a budding photographer, it’s to someday afford professional lenses for her favorite Nikon. With Christmas around the corner, all Jim and Della really want is to make each other’s dream come true. There’s a way to do it. It begins with a visit to a neighborhood pawn shop. Then, with the help of her best friend, Renee, cash-strapped Della takes on an extra job at a hotel without Jim’s knowing. Jim, a bartender in O. Henry’s Pub, secretly finds extra work, too, through his best friend, Ian. All it’ll take is just a couple of noble white lies from each of them, and enduring a few weeks of exhausting moonlighting, to make Christmas special. And in the meantime, they play matchmaker for Renee and Ian. It’ll be perfect. But a series of misunderstandings soon undermine their respective schemes, and fate itself will have a hand in their design for the best Christmas ever. One

Taking a Look at the Nintendo 3DS

17 Oct

Nintendo’s next generation handheld, the 3DS, is here. The box contains the system, an AC charger, a charge cradle, a metal telescoping stylus, a set of Augmented Reality cards and tons of literature. The 3DS can display glasses free stereoscopic 3D on the top screen using a parallax barrier. The effect is like looking into a diorama. New inputs include a really nice analog slide pad and motion sensing, and the resistive touch screen returns. New onboard features include a variety of AR games, a Mii studio, streamlined online friends lists and a 3D camera. The web browser and the digital store are not available at launch. Added horsepower puts the 3DS’s visuals at about Gamecube level, though few of the launch games really strut their stuff.

Manfrotto 501HDV | 055XPROB Fluid Video Head/Legs Review

17 Oct

Hello, Right now I am going to be giving you a review on the Manfrotto 501HDV Fluid Video Head and the 055XPROB Legs. These two together are about 0 for the pair and to me it’s a very worthy pair. So far I am really liking it! It’s can hold anything I throw at it and it’s very durable. It’s been knocked over by wind countless of times. If you are looking for a combo that will give you the kind of results of a similar 00 tripod/legs combo then I suggest you look into this head or legs. Both are great and both offer many features. Hope you enjoyed my review! Thank you, chargerfun34
