Nikon SB-400 Speedlight Flash and Zeikos D5000 Battery Grip Overview on a Nikon D5000 After a few days, the battery grip was becoming to much of a burden for me to carry around. It added a small but very noticeable amount of weight to my already heavy lens, which I did not need. I returned it, and glad I did. I’ll be using that money towards a 35mm 1.8 lens now. As for the SB-400, I LOVE IT! I decided not to get the SB-600 because I was happy with SB-400 and its compact size, and while the SB-600 has more features, the portability of the SB-400 is amazing. I’m an on-the-go, hang-out-with-family-and-friends, hobbyist photographer. I used to carry a big bag with three lens which was hassle. Now all I carry is my D5000, 18-270mm all-around lens, SB-400, and spare battery. All I’ll ever need, and very happy this way.

Grampy: Christmas Comes But Once A Year (1936) Max Fleischer Production

19 Oct

Max Fleischer’s Color Classics DVD Set! ? amzn.to XmasFLIX.com ? Like XmasFLIX! ? http Xmas MP3 ? XmasTRAX.com ? Podcast ? http An animated short produced by Fleischer Studios and released on December 4, 1936. You are viewing actual film in this video, with all it’s wonderful imperfections, however, I highly recommend getting the DVD boxed set called “Max Fleischer’s Color Classics: Somewhere in Dreamland” ? amzn.to The short begins in an orphanage, where the orphans are all asleep, awaiting Christmas morning. Just then, the puppy from the clock slides down a ramp and licks on one of the orphans. The first orphan shouts, “Merry Christmas, everybody!” And all the orphans jump out of bed and head to the hall, singing the title song. They grab the toys from their stockings, and get ready to play with them. However, they are sad to discover that the toys are completely broken and fall apart when they are played with. The orphans can’t help but cry. Meanwhile, Professor Grampy is out riding through the snow in his motor-driven sleigh, singing the title song himself. He hears the orphans crying from inside the orphanage, and he parks the sleigh, runs to the door, peeps through the window, and tries to think of a way to give the orphans a better Christmas. He puts on his thinking cap, and shortly, the lightbulb on the cap blinks. Apparently, he has an idea. He climbs through the window and starts making new toys out of household appliances. Finally, he dresses up as Santa

Photoshop CS4: Create Smooth Bubbles

19 Oct

Like us on facebook! www.facebook.com Learn to create bubbles with Photoshop. I was wondering of a basic tutorial to teach from a “orb” design I was working on and a snow globe I did during the holiday seasons, and decided well since I am in a bubble all the time in Super Mario Bros I decided to create a bubble tutorial using the same techniques I use when creating orbs or snow globes. (Those type of tutorials will need narrator, longer indepth tutorials will be coming soon) I hope you enjoy the tutorial, also don’t forget to try and go farther then what the tutorial shows you, and create something really awesome and post a video response of it.

Mobile Tire Changer WS-561-C

19 Oct

The mobile tire changer model WS-561-C is easy to transport in any van allowing you to work on the go whether on the road or onsite at a customers premises. It is an electro-hydraulic unit with its own built-in generator and air compressor. Not only is it able to change tires and then air them up, but it can be used to power any 220V or 110V accessory. The operating capacity of the tire changer ranges from 13″ to 27″. The compact size of the mobile tire changer frees up space for other tools and equipment in the van. The machine utilizes the conventional methods of a standard tire changing unit by means of a electro-hydraulic wheel clamping device. Breaking the bead, fitting/ removal of the tire onto the rim and hydraulic tool arms are standard operations of the mobile tire changers.

Finish Line

19 Oct

For More, visit jordan-carroll.com Client: Personal Production and Post Production: Jordan Carroll, Phill Mayer, Patrick Ross, Kai Wang, Alex Moed, Keith Anderson Credit: VFX Supervisor, Rotoscope Artist The concept for this project was to integrate a CG stereoscopic render with a stereoscopic HD plate shot on 2 Canon T2i’s. A custom rig was constructed to hold the two cameras side by side. The footage was taken into Nuke 6 (Nuke X) and converted to anaglyph stereo. An HDR was shot on set to provide lighting information. A CG mustang was rendered out of Maya using a stereo camera to produce left and right images. Everything was composited together and the 3D effect worked quite well for a custom camera rig. The movie “Finish Line” is viewable in 3D, just make sure to wear Red / Blue glasses.
