Editing Software Tips For Beginners – Digital Photography Lessons by Berger Bros Camera

19 Nov

www.Berger-Bros.com One of the things that has made digital photography fun is the ability to use editing software to play around and do fun things with your photos. A big question for beginners is what digital editing software to use. Yvonne Berger, one of the instructors at Berger Brothers Camera in Amityville and Syosset Long Island, NY, warns that, for beginners, it is a mistake to go out and buy a whole bunch of software. She explains that a good program to start with (for MAC users) is iPhoto…because it’s very user friendly. However, if you’re on a PC you should start with Picasa. The next level of software would be the program Adobe Photoshop Elements. In fact Yvonne teaches an excellent 4 week course on Photoshop Elements which you can learn more about here: www.berger-bros.com

3D Waltz of the Flowers (YouTube 3D HD Test)

19 Nov

Original file : 1280×1440 Over/Under 10Mbps wmv Test using 3d video in Over/Under format with yt3d:left/right tags. To view this video in 3D, select viewing style first from 12 option of drop down list box named “3D View Style”, Red/cyan, amber/blue etc. requires 3D glasses. Some other options, parallel and cross etc. doesn’t require any glasses. No viewing style with polarization type glasses like Real D is supported by YouTube 3D so far. 3D view style drop down menu may not appear unless using latest browser and player plug in. YouTube 3D HD playback : www.youtube.com I found 1280×960 Over/Under file for uploading is the best video quality after YouTube re-encoding.

Hazuki’s testing out her vampire powers, and she finds Kouhei’s friend Hiromi to be easy prey. Celebration is short-lived though, as Elfriede crashes the party, quite informative this evening as she seeks some answers of her own. Kouhei, who is known among their kind as the “Vampire’s Lover,” has blood with the power to impart freedom to the taker. As the young vampire learns of her need to keep the photographer by her side, her recent actions seek to drive him away.

The Second Most Important Button On Your DSLR

19 Nov

Todays tutorial is about using your digital SLR. People have been asking about my process for taking photos so I wanted to go over some of the basics of how to use digital SLRs first. I focus on how to use the Auto Exposure Lock and Auto Focus Lock button. It is a really powerful little button that helps you compose a better shot and fix problem scenes. Check out greyscalegorilla for more tutorials. greyscalegorilla.com

House of Wax restored – Fire Clip in 3D

19 Nov

I restored this film for my collection a few years ago when the only 3D versions available were either anaglyph or shutter DVD copies of the defunct VHD disks. I started by scouting around for the best shutter DVD version I could find , then buying a retail 2D PAL DVD version. This PAL DVD would be my master, as it would be a frame for frame copy of the 24fps movie, and I found it happened to be the right hand print Using Virtualdub, I separated the left hand image out of the dreadful NTSC interlacing, which, skipped, chopped and changed its rhythm throughout the whole movie. eventually resizing from 640×480 to 720x 576 to match the PAL master. once ripped from the DVD, all encoding was done using Huffy loss-less with the left and right files ending up 90+ GB each. Final editing, synchronisation & Divx 6 encoding was done by Muttyan’s StereoMovieMaker. It took weeks of spare time to complete and I won’t be doing anything like it again!!, I am looking forward to the Bluray 3d version that Warner Bros are rumoured to be releasing within the next year. Two things of note in this clip, Vincent Price has a stunt double for the “back to camera” fight scenes, but dose his own stunt work by running under the collapsing, burning mezzanine/staircase !! The other point of interest is that the evil escaping partner freezes at the door (it must have jammed) at the end of the shot and the pursuing camera has to pan away. The whole movie only took 29 days to shoot and there was probably
