Fly Agaric and phallus impudicus growing time-lapse

01 Dec

This time-lapse depicts a woodland floor with toadstool Fly Agaric and Phallus impudicus fungi growing. Filmed by Neil Bromhall for www.rightplants4me.co.uk Fly Agaric are poisonous and should not be eaten. Phallus impudicus is also called the stink horn fungi because is smells of rotting flesh to attract flies to feed on its spores. Getting flies to distribute its spored is an ingenious method whereas the Fly Agaric uses the wind to disperse it spores. It’s called Phallus because the shape of the fungi looks rather phallic penis This was filmed in my studio over a period of three weeks using Nikon D300 cameras, ellinchrom studio flash, humidifier and time lapse track Exposure interval 8-10 minutes Music “Dreaming spirit” by Paul Mottram
