Transcoding your original native .mov files is important when you want to be able to edit them in Premiere or other software. If you don’t you may find yourself frustrated trying to scrub through the video timeline. Only to find that you can not get smooth motion in your editing program. Reason for this is Canon DSLR videos are compressed using H.264. This is great for playback, but not good for editing. To edit you need edit-friendly file.

Pea hypogeal germination underground & seedling growth time lapse

This sequence shows hypogeal germination of peas. Filmed for www.rightplants4me.co.uk Hypogeal germination In this type of germination, the cotyledons remain in the soil or just above the surface. Here the epicotyl elongates, pushing the plumule upwards. Cotyledons do not turn green and gradually dry up eg pea, mango, groundnut etc. The underground sequence was filmed over a period of a week with an 8 minute interval. This sequence was filmed for the interactive on-line plant identifier and pruning guide encyclopaedia which went live March 2011 http The website is designed to help find and identify the right plants for every aspect of a garden and seasonal need and help you create a garden design with colour and interest The top shot was filmed in my studio over a period of 6 and days using Nikon D300 camera, time-lapse turn table, growlight with a 12 hr day length and Ellinchrom studio flash, Music “Early Morning” By Oliver Ledbury Copyright and filmed by Neil Bromhall

Spider Holster duel camera system review

Drop by my blog for more info at www.peteleong.com Thought I would do a quick little review of the new Spider Holster duel camera system which I use for shooting weddings with twin Nikon D3’s. On off days for hobby shooting I use this setup with my two Canon’s, a 5D mkII and 7D.

This are some impressions of my trip to Brighton over London Heathrow filmed with the Nikon D3100 in FULL HD I stayed just for two days, so I didn’t had enough time to film really good footage, so this are my best shoots collected and edited together, the editing is without preprogramed transitions effects etc. all made by myself, I hope you like!
