Hayloft

04 Nov

Throughout the month of August, I helped my friend/colleague Joseph build an extra level of flooring and shelving in his barn’s hayloft. We clamped a Nikon D300 with a Nikkor 10.5mm ƒ/2.8 fisheye to the ceiling rafters of the barn, set to aperture priority mode and ISO 800 @ ƒ/8 with +0.7 exposure comp. The camera’s intervalometer was set to take a photo once every 30 seconds, resulting in 7910 frames, capturing almost 66 hours of work. Help with the work and cleaning in the hayloft was provided by Joe’s kids, sister-in-law and neighbours. Song is “The Kindest Man The World Has Ever Known” by Dave Whiteside, aka, The Sun, The Rain, The Appleseed. Listen to more of Dave’s music and purchase his EP, “Eucatastrophe,” @ www.myspace.com

Nikon D7000 Hands-on Review

04 Nov

The D7000 has finally landed and our presenter, Kai W, has been fondling the camera lovingly. So, what’s new about this successor to the D90? We’ve all seen the specs sheet, and it looks pretty good even when compared to the D300S and other such cameras like the Canon 7D and Pentax K-5. But what is it really like to use? Find out in this review. In this Video: Nikon D7000 – www.digitalrev.com Nikon AF-S Nikkor 24mm f/1.4G ED – www.digitalrev.com Visit our online store: www.digitalrev.com

The Canon 60D Crash Course DVD can be ordered from this link: michaelthementor.com This video will show you how to activate Live View for the Canon 60D and how to select and control the three different auto focus modes for Live View. It also covers how to use “Manual Focus with Zoom” during live view to achieve precise focus when shooting wide open or for macro. These methods and techniques also apply to focusing when shooting video. This lesson is one of many from my new training DVD “Canon 60D Crash Course” which will help beginning and advanced shooters alike to learn their Canon 60D in quick, easy to understand lessons.
