Starlight Express 2nd US Tour 2004 Race 2

02 Aug

This is Race 2, from the Starlight Express 2nd US Tour, 2004. The film portion of the race was directed by Julian Napier and also used in the 1st and 2nd UK tours as well as the New Zealand Arena Tour. The double/blurry image in the film that you see here is because the films were presented in stereoscopic 3-D, designed to be viewed with polarized 3D glasses which caused the images to push out beyond the confines of the flat screen and into the audiences faces.

“BREATHE” 3D version

02 Aug

To watch this video as it’s unintended to be seen you will need to have a pair of 3D glasses. To learn more about watching youtube videos in 3D please check out the help section. This video has been uploaded before in 2D. Because the elements where put together in a After Effects 3D space adding a second camera to get a 3D rendering was possible. I’m not sure if it is an effect that’s worth work for my style of animation – but I thought I would play around with it. If you don’t have 3D glasses you can still watch the video in 2D format.

Here is a very low quality slowly-loading download, but only 12 MB: dl.dropbox.com Controls: P – position mode R – perspective mode F – focus mode S – stereoscopic mode Q – focus quality left mouse bottom – move/zoom/focus middle mouse bottom – make screenshot to scrn.png mouse wheel – stereoscopic depth If you have any questions or problems, send me a message. I hope you will like it 🙂 By the way, high end graphics cards surely have some better fillrates than my 8800GT… Maybe they can focus with good framerates at the highest quality. Use fraps or something and tell me! 🙂 Some links: Game Maker: www.yoyogames.com Lego Mindstorms: mindstorms.lego.com Bricx Command Center bricxcc.sourceforge.net Microsoft Visual Studio Express: www.microsoft.com DirectX SDK: www.microsoft.com OpenCV: opencv.willowgarage.com Photo to 3D: www.photo-to-3d.com

DEEP 3D – SPACE TUNNEL HD – [Red/Cyan]

01 Aug

DONT HAVE 3D GLASSES?? You could try this Audio Illusion where you use headphones instead 🙂 www.youtube.com My fascination with space drove me to make this 3D video. What do you think? Check out my other 3D stuff at 4Dtees.com or Subscribe for my next videos 🙂

Here’s a shot at editing footage in iMovie shot with a Sony Bloggie 3D. If you watch this on a computer, you should use anaglyph (red/blue) 3D glasses. If you watch it on YouTube through and HD 3D TV, use whatever format glasses your TV requires. As you can see, I haven’t figured out how to do titles in iMovie that work with the rest of the 3D duo image.
