LockCircle releases Prime Circle XE lenses with wireless aperture control

Accessory maker LockCircle has announced Prime Circle XE lenses in a Canon EF mount with a wireless controller that can can change aperture remotely at distances of up to 300 feet. Ranging between focal lengths of 15mm to 135mm, the lenses feature Carl Zeiss optics in a housing designed specifically for cinematographers with large focus scales and a common 95mm front mount across the range of lenses. There is currently no information about the XE series’ price and availability.

Adobe releases Lightroom 4.4 and Adobe Camera Raw 7.4

Adobe has released Photoshop Lightroom 4.4 and Adobe Camera Raw 7.4. These are final versions of updates that were originally posted as ‘release candidates’. Both versions add Raw support for 25 additional cameras, including the Nikon D7100, Canon EOS 100D, Fujifilm X100s and Sony SLT-A58. Corrections to the demosaicing algorithms for previously supported Fujifilm X-Trans and EXR sensor cameras are also included along with several new lens profiles. Sony releases two new apps for NEX-5R/NEX-6 owners

Sony has released two new apps on their PlayMemories App Store for owners of their Wi-Fi-equipped NEX-5R and NEX-6 cameras. The new apps, Light Shaft and Motion Shot, are priced at $ 4.99 each. If you’ve been yearning to add fake lens flare effects to your photos, then read on.

Transcend releases 64GB microSDXC UHS-I memory card

Transcend has released a 64GB microSDXC Ultra-High Speed Class 1 (UHS-I) memory card. The card offers data transfer speeds of up to 45MB/s (300x), and an ability to store more than 10,000 hi-res JPEG images (6MB file size) or 16 hours of 1080p HD videos. It also includes a free copy of the company’s RecoveRx software to recover deleted or lost files. The memory card is available for $ 109. Click through for the press release.

SLR Magic releases Monster Lens II spotting scope for Micro Four Thirds

SLR Magic has announced its Monster Lens II spotting scope for Micro Four Third cameras. The optic mounts directly on the camera body, allowing users to shoot distant images, commonly referred to as ‘digiscoping’. The 12-36×50 ED lens gives an equivalent optical zoom range of 840-2,520mm and aims to keep image quality high with extra-low dispersion optics and multi-coated glass elements. Wacom releases Cintiq 13HD 13-inch compact pen display for $999

Graphics tablet maker Wacom has announced the Cintiq 13HD, a 13-inch compact interactive graphics tablet that features a 1920 x 1080 LED monitor capable of displaying 16.7 million colors. Combined with the company’s latest Pro Pen the Cintiq 13HD offers 2048 levels of pressure sensitivity for graphic design and retouching. The Cintiq 13HD is the smallest model in the Cintiq lineup and the most affordable, too. It will start shipping from April 2013, at a cost of $ 999.99/ £749.99. Click through for more details.

ACD Systems releases ACDSee Photo Editor 6 with new Raw functionality

ACD Systems has released ACDSee Photo Editor 6, the company’s photo editing software for enthusiasts. Among the highlights in version 6 are support for Raw files as non-destructive object layers and Lighting and Contrast Enhancement (LCE) technology that promises to improve the quality of poorly lit photos. Selective color editing tools have also been added. The software is available at a retail price of $ 49.99.

Think Tank has announced three new accessories for their camera bag line-up. The Low Rider Strap with a split-pad design attaches a second bag to one’s main rolling luggage and is available for $ 29.75. The Pro DSLR Battery Holder, priced at $ 17.50 accommodates two full-sized DSLR battery packs. A limited edition Pixel Pocket Rocket holds CF and QXD memory cards. Priced at $ 18.75, this memory card holder was manufactured in just one production run and will be unavailable once the stocks runs out. European prices and availability information to be confirmed.

Adobe releases Photoshop Touch for Android and iOS smartphones

Adobe has announced a smartphone version of its Photoshop Touch app for both Android and iOS. The app was originally launched for 10-inch tablets and more recently a version for smaller tablets, such as the iPad Mini and Google Nexus 7. It includes features familiar to Photoshop users such as layers, advanced selections tools, adjustments and filters, but in a much smaller format.
