Nikon has announced the D7100 – a 24MP mid-range, enthusiast-focused APS-C DSLR. The D7100 promises high resolution by making do without an optical low-pass filter in front of its 24MP CMOS sensor. It gains a more sophisticated 51-point autofocus system and a 7fps 1.3x cropped shooting mode that provides a 2x crop compared to a 35mm system. The D7100 has a recommended price of $ 1,599/£1,299 with 18-105mm F3.5-5.6 VR lens.

Filmmaker’s lens: Super Takumar 50mm on Canon DSLR

16 Feb

www.videotestground.com This video examines the great Asahi Super Takumar 50mm f1.4 lens, focusing on how to use this lens for video on Canon DSLRs. I discuss some of the properties of the Super Takumar and the ways to mount the lens to a Canon DSLR such as 7D, 60D or t3i 600D. I also talk about mounting filters to the lens using the step up ring adapter. Super Tak is an exceptional, fast, inexpensive filmmaking lens which has been successfully used on a number of DSLR productions. Due to its low cost, the Super Tak has become a popular lens in many Canon EOS DSLR shooters’ kits. The lens excels at creating pleasing shallow depth of field, with characteristic bokeh effect. Super Tak is an excellent portrait lens, especially on 1.6x crop factor cameras such as 60D or t3i. Given the crop factor, the lens behaves like an 80mm (equivalent on 35mm camera), which looks amazing on close-ups of people. Super Tak is a very fast lens, exceptionally suited to low-light work. The lens opens to F1.4, while remaining amazingly sharp. I’ve compared the Super Takumar with Canon 50mm EF 1.8 lens, and the Super Tak wins hands down. The build quality of the Super Tak is ‘old-school’ solid, compared to Canon’s flimsy lens. I love the feel of Super Takumar’s focusing ring. I also love to have the f-stop ring on the lens. I do a bit of macro work with the Super Tak (with extension tubes), and the beauty of the all-manual lens is that I can control the aperture on the lens (I can’t control it

In its official statement Olympus says there is no truth to these reports and the company will continue to offer DSLR cameras alongside its popular mirrorless camera range. The ultimate Introduction to DSLR Filmmaking | Basic Tutorial

11 Feb

A tutorial by Fenchel & Janisch Facebook: www.fb.com YouTube: www.youtube.com This introduction to DSLR video is divided into six parts. Learn how to set up your camera, shoot in daylight and at night. This tutorial shows you how to get the cinematic film look that so many people are talking about. In the fall of 2008 Vincent Laforet was the first one to use the Canon EOS 5D Mark II which was the first digital SLR capable of recording full HD video. The short film he shot mostly at night, called “Reverie”, become popular over night. Something that Canon never intended got more and more in focus of amateur filmmakers all over the world: Shooting films and commercials with a stills camera. It only took a few month and the first accessories were released. Since then a lot has happened and a lot of TV shows like “House MD” or “CSI Miami” used DSLRs on set. Philip Bloom, another pioneer in digital filmmaking, used cameras on the Lucas Film production “Red Tails”. The small body and the great image quality has fascinated international acclaimed cinematographers like Rodney Charters (“24”). In independent cinema those cameras became indispensable. Tutorial: How to check shutter count on your Canon EOS DSLR

07 Feb

A tutorial on how to check shutter count or actuations on your Canon DSLRs. www.sproductions.in Link to the program goo.gl Follow us on Twitter: goo.gl Please note: This is a third party program, download and install at your own risk. This works on any of the Canon DIGIC III/IV DSLRs except the 1D* series. This means it will work for the 40D, the 50D, the 450D and the 1000D. It will not work on the 1D*, 5D, 10D, 20D, 30D, 300D, 350D, and 400D and the 500D.

THIS IS FOR HP battery type of printers only. Even with a battery, some printers might not work. If this doesn’t work you may try disconnecting all the connectors on the circuit board for an hour or look for a software reset method. Even though I collect lots of HP printers as a hobby, I’m clueless about most of them. This video is how to reset the ink on your HP printer. There’s no need to dissemble the printer to get to the battery. A long pair of tweezers to pull the CMOS battery out from its casing for a short time will work just fine. Some printers may not keep time by using the battery alone. Read more at www.land.netonecom.net
