Canon sweeps DSLR categories as EISA announces awards for cameras and lenses

Canon has taken the main DSLR awards for the best products of the year as voted by the prestigious European Imaging and Sound Association. The EOS 7D Mark ll won ‘European Prosumer DSLR Camera’ while the EOS 5DS/5DS R won the award for ‘European Professional DSLR Camera’. Read more

Sony reportedly shifting focus to full-frame cameras

Sony is planning to heavily target the full-frame camera market, according to a report from The Korea Times. At a press conference, Sony Korea’s Digital Imaging & Alpha Marketing Department head Bae Ji-hoon said that Sony plans to first target current full-frame camera users, then shift toward attracting new customers who currently use ‘entry and mid-class models.’ Read more

We’ve been packing our gear in our favorite waterproof cases to document our summer adventures. Our pals Margo and Sara just took a few out for a test drive float down the river.

Ricoh addresses ‘power off’ issue on some Pentax K-3 II cameras

Ricoh is addressing an anomaly found on a small group of its Pentax K-3 II digital SLRs in which the camera will not turn off, even when the power lever is in the ‘off’ position. Ricoh will service any K-3 II within a specific range of serial numbers at no charge, regardless of whether the camera is having the issue. Apple adds Raw support for ten cameras to Mac OS X Yosemite

Apple has released version 6.05 of Raw compatibility software for Mac OS X Yosemite. This update adds support for ten cameras including the Fujifilm X-T10, Leica M Monochrom (Typ 246), Nikon 1 J5, and Panasonic DMC-G7 to Apple’s Aperture, Photos, and iPhoto software. The download is now available in the Software Update section of the Mac App Store. See the full list of new cameras

TTRobotix introduces TTR-SB Seawolf submarine for GoPro cameras

09 Jun

Swedish company TTRobotix has introduced the TTR-SB Seawolf, a remote controlled submarine that includes a forward-facing mount for the GoPro HERO3 and HERO4 cameras. Seawolf allows video footage and still images to be captured underwater in depths up to 8m/26ft while an operator remotely controls the vessel; live streaming is also available. Read more
