Fujifilm’s latest financials show strong sales of Instax products, shrinking sales of digital cameras

It’s the season for pre-holiday financial earnings reports, and Fujifilm’s latest numbers tell a familiar story – digital camera sales are down on the whole, with steady sales of higher-end products. Despite that, Fuji’s imaging solutions division saw an increase in operating income, up to 12.4 billion yen in the first half of the financial year, marking a 2.7x improvement year-on-year. Light L16 packs 16 cameras into a single portable body

US-based startup Light has officially introduced its L16, a portable device packed with 16 individual cameras, ten of which capture an image at the same time at different fixed focal lengths. The resulting photograph is a composite of all the individual images combined, with a final resolution of up to 52 megapixels. An earlier prototype of this camera was shown off this past April. Ricoh offers limited edition GR II kit to mark 10 years of digital GR cameras

The forthcoming Ricoh GR II is set to also be available in a special limited edition ‘Premium’ kit that has been announced by the company to mark the 10th birthday of the first digital version of the famous GR film bodies. The kit will come in an aluminum case and will include the GV-1 external viewfinder as well as the GW-3 wide angle converter that uses a 0.75x magnification to turn the camera’s 28mm lens into what seems like a 21mm super wide. To the skies! DJI launches Zenmuse X5 and X5R 4K Micro Four Thirds aerial cameras

Drone maker DJI has announced a pair of Micro Four Thirds aerial cameras including a model that can shoot lossless 4K Raw footage. The Zenmuse X5 and X5R are built around 16MP Four Thirds sensors, are compatible with a handful of small Micro Four Thirds lenses and can be flown on the company’s Inspire 1 drones. Read more
