Choosing the best camera angle photography tip

03 Aug

More Info: www.silberstudios.tv We tossed out a challenge for ideas for a video tip and as it turned out the one we picked was from a local pro photographer who offered to come by and shoot it with us so we took him up on it! Eric Gould joined us at Silber Studios to demonstrate various camera angles and how to choose the best one for your shot. Eric shows you how to take shots from many different angels and heights and how these change the way your subject will look. For example, he shows a tip for helping an overweight person look thinner. You can easily follow along with Eric to see how these will work for you. After watching this video go out and shoot and post your best to the AYP forum and we’ll give you feedback!

The art in nature that the camera eye sees

I take intermittent leave here to work on projects that have me posting studies of shared stunning photographs with brilliant poetry that complement each frame in Facebook.

One fine late afternoon, I espied the sunset from my window where my work station at home is conveniently located and I took a photograph of it that had me writing an intro in the final entry of the first batch of studies that I now share an excerpt of, that you may know- it will take me time to correspond with each of you I so fondly remember wherever site I go to…

I am an avowed photo enthusiast who reads poetry in the artworks I find in each frame. I have seen an overwhelming number of outstanding photographs of artists all over the world that hugely stuns the imagination – bringing one to the reality of the more sublime art, photography has evolved into.

How do we classify this vis-à-vis with contemporary art? It comes with acknowledging the pervasive influence of high-technological advancements in our time, one that composes a photograph to a virtual work of art.
Is it any less than the traditional form? I think not. I would like to think that any form of art that uplifts the human spirit, indubitably defines excellence to a level of greater understanding and thus acceptance.

I post photographs with images that match poetry so that one is able to imagine the combination of visual art with its written form to a cohesive whole. With the experience derived the heart and mind opens to see and feel a whole new perspective outside of the self.
And the result is the virtual alliance formed between the art and the beholden. You just know when you have arrived, because you remember the feeling of ultimate fulfilment of the shared experience; and then ultimately, you are made the better for it.

The poetry of esteemed and fresh poets – moves within the images in the photographs of the masters; and then the reader/viewer waits for the story of the poem to unfold; and when it does with the images that come suddenly so alive- nothing else could be the same for him, as the finer art of having truly lived the life of another.

A Camera Too Good Not To Be Made For A Pro

01 Aug

Imagine a camera that has the dynamic range to capture the sun and night time stars all in one exposure, all while sporting an impressive 112 megapixel resolution. The folks at Spectral Instruments are toying with the idea of making one of their $ 100,000+ cameras for a pro photographer. What photographer wouldn’t want to explore the possibilities with a camera made for the heavens and enjoy a sensor that can produce a 300dpi  35 inch square print from a 95mm x 95mm sensor.  Add a comment on the video and email zeke@specinst.com with your vote of who you’d like to see use such a camera.
Shameless plug… thanks in advance for your vote :)

[MODIFIED] Digital Night Photography – Two Ways to Prevent Camera Shake

01 Aug

Your digital photos at nighttime need not be blurry if you use one of these techniques.

While most digital camera manuals describe the self-timer mode, where the camera takes a picture several seconds after the shutter speed is pressed, as “good for portraits”, the self-timer mode can be very useful for night photos as well.

Most night photos, especially in situations where you cannot reliably use flash, require a shutter speed of half a second or longer else the subject will be too dark. This is to compensate for the lack of available light. Unfortunately, these situations, especially if you are unable to use a tripod, can result in camera shake….
