Hi Everyone. Welcome to another landscape and seascape photography tip. Heaps of people when they are starting out are unsure how to find correct exposure when taking photos. This little trick should help you get correct exposure when taking your landscape photographs. Its easy and takes about 10 seconds to do. Let me know what you think! Jamie Paterson

you said you shot the first at 1/40sec iso 100 f16 , then you changed to 1/60sec iso 100 f16 , this would have given you an even darker pic as you speeded up the shutter just a note as not to confuse the beginners

Fair comment, but there is little value in telling people what you know if its detrimental.
I commend the sharing of knowledge but really this advice is not good advice. I suspect he might even know better which makes it even stranger!

least hes having a go at passing on what he knows , and some of his photos are amazing , maybe instead of putting jamie down you should post your own vids. well done jamie , keep up the good work .

To be perfectly honest, as a landscape photographer myself I can only imagine this being misleading to beginners.
It reinforces the idea that shooting in manual i difficult.
This method kind of works if the auto settings are anywhere near what you might actaully select. In plenty of situations auto might have chosen f5.6 ISO400 1/20. Not the kind of settings you want if you have a tripod.
A simpler approach is to say…Set the camera to Av, set the aperture to f/13 set the ISO to 100 and adjust
