Keiichi will have to push himself to his finest hour to find a solution.

Sony World Photography Awards 2012 opens for entries

The Sony World Photography Awards have started accepting entries for the 2012 competition. The award categories have been revised for the latest competition and are split between ‘professional’ and ‘open’ categories. Submitted photos must be taken during 2011 and can be submitted at any point between now and Jan 4th 2012. Enthusiast photographers are welcome to enter either the professional or open competitions but not both. 2012 sees the introduction of a youth competition in which photographers under the age of 20 can submit images that suit the themes: ‘environment,’ ‘portrait’ or ‘culture.’ The latest competition also sees the addition of six moving image categories.

What makes this one special is the fact that it was filmed, vfx’ed and comped all in just 4 days. It was made as part of the “4 day Film” catagory in the Darklight Film Festival. It follows 4 MMORPG players taking about their online persona’s. As they tell their stories we see them go about their everyday lives against the mundane backdrop of city life…but as their Avatars. There was a team of people on this with director Gavin Kelly leading the troupe. I worked on the 3d characters along with John O’ Connell and Will Sharkey. John O’ Connell was 3D Lead.
