We’ve just got hold of Nikon’s 36MP D800 full-frame DSLR and have been seeing what it’s like to shoot with. We’ve shot it alongside the D3S to see exactly what effect trebling the pixel count has. In addition we look at the handling, its video shooting controls and how it behaves with vintage lenses. To put our studio samples in context we’ve also included a 40-image real-world samples gallery and a look at the camera’s low-light performance. You may be surprised by the outcome.

We’ve updated our Canon EOS 5D Mark III preview with a selection of real world samples images and more detailed descriptions of the camera’s behavior. We’ve shot a range of subjects under different lighting types and light levels to see how the latest 22MP performs. These shots were taken using a pre-production camera running final firmware, so may not be 100% representative of final image quality (though Canon allowing us to publish them suggests they’re not far off). We’re expecting a production-standard camera and will be adding studio test shots next week.

Visit www.s3dgamerzone.com for more 3D Videos. This is a review I made of World of Warcraft Wrath of the Lich King in 3D. At the time of the review there were some interface problems and the map screen was rendering at the wrong depth. Most of the issues have since then been resolved making Warcraft once again very enjoyable to play in 3D. There are still some minor Issues present , for instance the sky in some places still seems to render at the wrong depth. For the most part Warcraft in 3D looks fantastic. The only reason why I actually stopped playing Warcraf for a few months was because of all the the 3D problems it had . It was very frustrating for me and eventually I pulled away from the game. I was very happy to see that after months of staying away from the game most of the issues have been fixed. This is the main reason why I’m back playing Warcraft again. 3D gave Warcraft a reboot for me, I found myself going back to places that I have been to a thousand times before and re-experiencing them in 3D. I have always been a big fan of “POP OUT”, that’s basically when the games environment actually comes out of the screen. This has a really cool effect when you go to take a look at your gear or inspect other players. If you set your depth and convergence just right you could have your Character come out of the screen by about 2 inches when you zoom in close, Its kind of cereal looking at him for the first time with depth. It gave him presence and he looked so much …

Spanish photographer Samuel Aranda has won the World Press Photo 2011 award. The prize comes for his image of a woman holding a relative wounded during protests against Yemen’s President Saleh. The World Press Photo Contest 2012 also awarded prizes in 18 other categories ranging from Arts and Entertainment to Portraits. Some of these images may be familiar from news coverage throughout the year but they make a compelling and inspiring reminder of the breadth of photography, even within the confines of press usage.

Live performance of World Order and Mind Shift by Genki Sudo’s World Order at the JUICE Hip Hop Dance Festival in Los Angeles. Unfortunately, my camera (Nikon D90) only has a 5 min max cap and I wasn’t aware that I had reached it so the video cuts off early and I didn’t record the end.
